This large, 1910 Grand Richmond Farmhouse/Craftsman home is full of character and history, and truly one if a kind.

Home has two master bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, large home office, home gym, formal dining room, eat in kitchen, separate parlor, living room, deck, 2 covered porches, and balconies off of each bedroom.

Walk to many of Portland's trendy restaurants, food pods, and boutiques. StumpTown, Woodsman Tavern, Petit Provence, and more are just a few minutes away on foot.
We will be temporarily located out of town for work, and have decided to put our beloved home on the short-term rental market. We have cleared out our personal items so you can make the home your own, and left in place the beautiful furnishings and decor that we have built, collected and curated.

When you move in, you will find a ready-made home just waiting for someone to love it as much as we do.

The perfect Portland home base!
We had the absolute best time at Jodi's place! The house itself is spacious, well laid out, and has such great character. There was such great attention to detail paid to the guest experience. There's a lovely "house book" that lists all of the great features/history of the home as well as clear instructions on how to use everything. The house has a great mixture of old and new. The flooring, the stove, the little laundry chutes - there are so many cute accents that remind you of the house's history, and yet it also has enough modern elements to make it comfortable. The wifi is great, the TV is great, the heating/AC system is great. It really is the best of all worlds. On top of all that, Jodi was a great host who was quick to respond whenever we had a question. Can't wait to go back!

Historical home
If you appreciate a lovingly restored historic home this is the place for you. It’s spacious, the kitchen is very well stocked, and the beds are comfortable. The host is very responsive. Easy walking distance to various food cart pods and a small grocery. The heat wave was very hard on Portland yards and currently the side yard where the fire pit is shown is mostly weeds. It could use some TLC. 50th is a busy street but quiet at night and we slept well with the windows open and stayed cool at night (with a fan) even on very hot days. The AC has to work hard upstairs during the daytime but it helps if you keep all the upstairs doors shut.

This is a big house that suited us well during our recent five-week stay. The A/V system works very well, which we really appreciated, especially when Portland's temperatures soared into the 90's. The home has a gym room with a great multi-purpose weight machine, as well as a separate room that serves as an office. We made good use of both of them. The kitchen is very spacious and has an oven that despite its old age, actually heats up very quickly and delivers very precise temperatures. My wife did a lot of baking and she was delighted with how the oven worked. Beds are very comfortable. The home is located on a corner lot and one side faces a two-lane road that is fairly busy during the day. It quietens down early most evenings though, and we were only bothered by road noise a couple of nights we were there. Street parking usually is easy to find on the quiet street at the front, but it sometimes gets congested and a few times we had to park about a block away. We did have some maintenance issues but we were able to deal with them. Jodi responded within 24 hours each time we contacted her, and we were always satisfied with the outcome. There was an unfortunate mix-up at check-in with Jodi's housekeeper, with the result that we had to clean a bathroom, wash the sheets, make the bed, and throw out some trash, before settling in ourselves. Both Jodi and her housekeeper were very apologetic, and we shrugged the incident off. Overall we were quite satisfied with our stay.

Perfectly Portland❤
This is a beautiful home. The neighborhood is very pretty with lots of places to shop, take walks, and eat out (or order in). The house has been beautifully restored, and the woodwork is pure artistry. The garden is lovely - we were visited by humming birds & butterflies. Jodi is very contientious, kind, and considerate. She has created the type of home that makes Portland so incredibly unique. You will love it.

The home was pleasing from the time we arrived until our final tug on the front door.
I cannot imagine what would have been required that was not available in or out of the home. All is thoughtfully provided and extremely lovely. Jodi was professional, friendly, and gracious from start to finish. Very very very happy with each interaction and communication we had. Highly recommend this host and home. We are looking forward to returning to Portland again soon and will book with this property if we can! Our local family loved hanging out with us in this beautifully kept place. Thank you, Jodi, for making our trip delightfully special.

Amazing Property with no detail overlooked
Not only is the home itself gorgeous but there is no small detail that was overlooked here. The couch is comfy, the kitchen is fully stocked and ready for any meal you could want to whip up, the bedrooms are cozy and the décor is amazing. The homeowner Jodi made sure that we knew even the little details about the home, the area, made restaurant recommendations, was easy to reach and very communicative so we knew every check in, check out detail, answered questions promptly, she was just fantastic. We did much less wandering around town than we normally would as we were just really enjoying relaxing at the home, which says a lot. If we returned to Portland this would be the first property we would want to stay at. Thank you Jodi!!!!

Response:Wow, Jennifer... thank you so much. It is always a little nerve-wracking renting out one's own furnished home, but hearing how much you enjoyed and appreciated the home makes it all worth it. Thank you for your kind words. We look forward to your return.

In 2002, I left Canada to travel the world as a documentary photographer. In 2008, I met the love of my life in Abu Dhabi. In 2013, we moved to Portland, Oregon where I can't seem to get enough of the innovative food scene, creative culture, and natural beauty of Oregon.

We are quite particular when it comes to travel accommodation. We want to be surrounded by a simple beauty that represents the culture of where we are, with seemingly effortless luxury and comforts.

Some of our favourite boutique hotels from around the world are:
Talaa 12 in Marrakech, Morocco
Costa Lanta in Koh Lanta, Thailand
Riva Lofts in Florence, Italy
Sumahan on the Water in Istanbul, Turkey
Bab Al Shams in the middle of the desert, UAE
La Sacristia in Tarifa, Spain
Playa Viva Eco-Lodge, Mexico
La Donaira in Montecorto, Spain
