Fish Trap is the perfect location for a relaxing getaway! You can relax and chat with friends in the screened-in porch or roast marshmallows around the fire pit between the river and the cabin. Stacked, dried firewood is available for you to use for a small fee. Inside, youll find a fully-equipped kitchen that flows into the dining area and living room complete with satellite and cable TV and gas fireplace. Rest up from a day of enjoying the great outdoors in one of the three comfortable bedrooms or in a chair on the large deck overlooking the river. The cabin also features wood flooring and trim, and tile floors in the modern, fully-furnished bathrooms. Outside, theres a gas grill for grilling hamburgers, a huge open yard and private river access for the vacation of your dreams!

PLEASE NOTE: The optional firewood charge of $15/night is for firewood for the outdoor fire pit. (The indoor fireplace at this property is gas.) If you dont think you will use the firewood or would like to bring your own, please let us know! We are more than happy to refund that to you.

Also please note: No parties, events, or gatherings of guests that are not included in the reservation are allowed at Fish Trap.

The base rate includes 4 people. Additional guests are extra, $40 per person per night - please read the itemized charges carefully and make sure to make your reservation for the correct number of guests that will be staying. Thank you!

Pet Fee- $100 per dog ( max 2 dogs) - No Cats

Please take your trash with you. There is dumpster access at the Shenandoah River Outfitters (less than a mile from the property). The house manager can take them for a tip of $5 per bag, if you would prefer.

Awesome Fall Family Get Away!

We truly enjoyed our time spent at the Fish Trap, as a family we try to get away from the hustle and bustle a few times a year and take time to enjoy each other. We rented several cabins in the area and especially enjoyed Fish Trap as it was right nest door to another rental that we had also rented. Our families could walk to each other's vacation homes and therefore share the campfire pit and extra quality time together. We didn't plan on sight seeing on this trip but we did venture into Luray Caverns for an afternoon. We enjoyed our time just hanging out together and along the river.
The home was very well laid out and very convenient for our family. It was very clean and enjoyable. We used the grill and enjoyed the outdoor dining. We are hoping to go back next year.

Amazing Cabin to Relax and Unplug!

Our 2nd year coming here and gets better each time! Gorgeous house on the perfect piece of property. Backs right up to the river which makes for an amazing backdrop of the huge fire pit. Can’t wait to go again this summer and then next winter!!! Highly recommend it if you are looking for a place to just unplug and relax.

Beautiful Weekend in Our Favorite Place

I’ve been visiting Luray and specifically this stretch of the river for a long time. It’s one of mine and now my family’s favorite places to get away for a long weekend. We usually go for a more rustic place but decided to splurge a bit for wife’s birthday and book fish trap. It definitely did not disappoint. The house was well kept and clean, which is neither here nor there for us because we spend most our time outside. I do have to say I’ve stayed at cabins all up and down S page valley road and this is the nicest lot I’ve stayed at to date. Plenty of space for kids and dogs to roam. Beautiful flat yard perfect for games and activities. Gentle incline up to the cabin and a beautiful stretch of water as they all are. Perfect for a weekend with the family or a few friends. Couldn’t recommend more. I dream to own one of these one day!

Amazing location and stay!

We had an amazing stay at Fish Trap Cabin. The location and setting were nothing short of breathtaking! We enjoyed the hot tub, long afternoon bonfires, fishing in the river, hiking nearby and taking walks around the property. The home is very simply, but has what you need! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked for us to cook every meal. The two small issues we had were that the fireplace didn't work when we followed the instructions provided (we needed more detailed instructions as the pilot was off), and the landline home phone did not work. Neither of these things would prevent us from returning, and we received immediate responses to our emails about the issues. But, since we didn't have cell service at all (and wifi was spotty), it would have been nice for the home phone to work in case of emergency.

Perfect cabin with a perfect location on the river

We had a wonderful stay at Fish Trap. The cabin has everything you need for a great stay on the river. Canoes, tubes, fireplace, hot tub, and a fully stocked kitchen (with a great view) are all at Fish Trap. This place is well organized, stocked, and comfy. It was great.

A clean hidden gem

This is a certainly a hidden gem - easily accessible to the caverns yet has the far away feeling being so close to the Shenandoah River. The house is very clean and well maintained with all basic amenities. Highly recommend to families who seek the far away feeling from home but yet spend shorter times on the road from DC. Will visit again soon.

Beautiful Spot on the River

We had a wonderful 3 day stay at Fish Trap Cabin. Beautiful location, beautiful comfortable cabin. The cabin is very spacious & well kept. Overlooks the Shenandoah River. We enjoyed the hot tub & the fire pit very much. Cabin is located near Luray Caverns & downtown Luray. Also close to Skyline Drive. Our family highly recommend Fish Trap Cabin.

Superb Mountain Getaway!

Wanted to take my family of 6 to Luray Caverns for the weekend so we booked the Fish Trap cabin. We all loved it and wished we could have stayed longer! Everything was clean and in great condition, ready for any family to enjoy their time away from the hustle and bustle. Gorgeous property, with direct river access, big fire pit, hot tub, fully furnished, and more! If I had to say anything negative, it would also kind of be a positive, and that was that the wifi didn't work while we were there. However, it was perfect in that we were able to "disconnect" from our normal lives and take it all in! Loved it!

Beautiful Cabin!

We stayed for a weekend at the Fish Trap cabin for my Dad’s birthday in August (5 adults, 2 dogs). The cabin was beautiful and had plenty of space for all of us. The location is amazing. It sits very close to the river, and there are beautiful views from the deck and inside the house. The town of Luray was about a 15 minute drive. They have a Wal-Mart, ABC store and Food Lion for all of your food/drink needs.
When we arrived, the code for the door didn’t work, but I called the phone number in the email, spoke to a friendly person, and it was resolved easily and immediately.
Canoes were provided, which my brother used and had a great time. It was too hot to get in the hot tub, but it looked very nice.
They do ask that you dispose of the trash yourself (or they can for a small fee), but the place where you dispose of it is about 2 minutes up the road and it’s really quick and easy to do.
They really did think of everything. I always over pack and bring things just in case, but I definitely didn’t need to here. They had toilet paper, paper towels, hand soaps, dish soap, trash bags, flash lights, grill lighters, grilling tools, ice trays in the freezer, sprays in the bathrooms, etc! They also had bug spray, which we definitely needed. They provided a generous amount of firewood and we enjoyed the fire pit each night.
We can’t wait to stay here again!
