Our cozy family cabin features a bunk bed w/ a full size bed on bottom & a single bed up top as well as a 2nd bunk bed w/ a full size futon on bottom & a single bed on top. The cabin has a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and heater. While there is NOT plumbing inside this cabin, there is a brand new bath house approximately 30 feet from this cabin.

The entire campground is available for our guests to enjoy! Guests will have access to the following amenities on the campground:
Free Wifi
Game Room (air hockey, pinball, arcade games)
Pickleball & Basketball Courts
3 Bath Houses (with hot showers and clean rest rooms)
North Toe River (great for fishing, tubing, kayaking)
Picnic Table & Fire Ring outside cabin door
Coin Laundry Room
Gathering Room w/TV, library of books and card tables

We live on the campground and will always be available to our guests if they have any questions about the cabin, our campground, or our general area. We are happy to give recommendations for good places to eat and area attractions!

Our Campground is centrally located and 25 miles from Banner Elk (lots of great skiing and hiking), 35 miles from Boone, 60 miles from Asheville, 25 miles from Grandfather Mountain, and just 12 miles from Linville Caverns/Falls

Please remember guests need to bring their own pillows, linens/blankets, and towels. We are pet friendly ($50 pet fee per dog) but guests must keep their pets leashed and picked up after. If you do not have linens we can provide a linen service for a fee. We also ask that pets do not get up in the lofts of cabins. Please do NOT move beds or furniture in the cabins.

This was a perfect place for me to get away with my dog for the weekend. The cabin itself is simple with two bunk beds (make sure to bring your own bedding!) a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. A few coffee mugs and some coffee filters are provided but you will be responsible for supplying your own silverware, plates, napkins etc. This is a comfortable step up from tent camping. A small heater and fan are provided in the room to alleviate the effects of heat or cold, but come prepared to keep yourself warm or cool depending on the season you are visiting. This is a confined space perfect for securing your possessions behind a locked door, resting, and getting yourself ready before you set off on your adventure. If you plan on staying with a group of people be aware this isn’t a cabin designed for indoor lounging, however; the campsite offers higher end cabins with more room and indoor amenities if you are looking for a more luxurious experience. The showers, bathroom and recreation room are about a minute walk across the campsite. I highly recommend taking advantage of the mountain hiking trail located directly behind the cabin area. The trail is challenging enough to be rewarding but not impossible to accomplish even for a less than avid hiker. The hike is serene, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature without leaving the campsite. At the very top of the mountain is an overlook which allows you to take in a wonderful view and celebrate your hiking victory. The campsite is also conveniently located near other hiking and site seeing opportunities such as Linville Falls and Grand Father Mountain. I feel like I stumbled upon a hidden gem as far as mountain stays go and look forward to visiting again with my friends in the warmer months when I hope to take advantage of the numerous outdoor activities the campsite has to offer. I definitely recommend a stay at Buck Hill Campground.

This was a perfect getaway for our family of 5. We enjoyed fishing by the river although we didn't catch anything and the kids had fun in the arcade the day it rained. We had a great time and Chris was very nice and communicative. Thank you!

I loved the campground, it was extremely clean and well taken care of. Christopher got back to me immediately with any questions I had. The cabin was exactly as described, it had what we needed and the beds were really comfortable! It has a picnic table and fire ring right outside the cabin which was perfect to cook on. My wife and I run a beautiful campground in Western North Carolina. Our guests love to trout fish and tube in our river, or hike up to the top of Buck Hill Mountain (our property is 144 acres) We rent both RV sites, tent sites, and 11 cabins for our guests to enjoy while saying with us.

House Rules
We are pet friendly, guests pay a one time $50 pet fee per dog. Dogs must be leashed at all times while on the campground and picked up after. Smoking or burning candles are NOT allowed in ANY of our cabins.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation and Refund Policy

No rain checks or refunds will be issued for holidays.

Either a rain check for the full amount or a full refund will be

given for cancellations received 14 days prior to check-in date.

A rain check or refund for 50% of the deposit will be issued for

cancellations received 4 to 13 days prior to check-in date.

Cancellations made less than 4 days prior to arrival date are not

eligible for refunds or rain checks. We cannot guarantee the weather.

Guests are responsible for the entire length of stay reserved.

Refunds will not be given for late arrivals or early departures.
