Welcome to Fishing Tales Family Cabin that sleeps up to 8 guests. We are located in the Quiet & Peaceful Lake Naomi Club Community with 24/7 Ranger Patrols.

Fishing Tales is a great getaway to enjoy nature in the beautiful Pocono Mountains. You may get to spot some of our resident wildlife friends while visiting; white tail deer, black bears, chipmunks and eagles to name a few.

We are situated in a prime location close to major area attractions such as Kalahari Indoor Waterpark, Camelback Mountain for Skiing and Snow Tubing, Jack Frost Big Boulder for Skiing, Pocono Raceway /NASCAR, Jim Thorpe & Stroudsburg, Whitewater Rafting, Tannersville Outlets, Vineyards, Mt. Airy Casino, and more!

There are many opportunities close by to enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, etc. and in the summer there are state parks that have swimming lakes and beaches, boat rentals, and much more. Our favorites to visit are Hickory Run State Park, Tobyhanna State Park, Francis E. Walter Dam, Lehigh Gorge's Rail Trail White Haven Entrance, and Brady's Lake.

While visiting us, be sure to check out the Jubilee Restaurant, Mountaintop Lodge's Café & Coffee shop, and 940 Junction or Tutrone’s for Ice cream (Seasonal), which are all staples in our community.

We have 2 smart TV's in the home that has Disney+ and Hulu, Amazon Prime Video with Live TV, Freevee, and Misc TV apps. You will also be able to log into any of your own streaming services.

Note: Lake Naomi does NOT sell weekend passes to the lake or indoor amenities. They only sell passes for rentals of 1-week or longer.

Lake Naomi Club's Rates & Info can be found on their website under the membership tab. We are limited in how many families we can sponsor per year, so please let us know if you intend on taking out a membership for your 1-week or longer stay.

This place is a gem! We stayed here for 3 months and everything we could have possibly needed, the Chalet had. Very quiet and peaceful area in the middle of the Pocono Mountains. The outdoor area and fire pit was definitely our favorite spot! The beds were comfy, the soaking tub was wonderful, the couch and fireplace was cozy and inviting. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this place and HIGHLY recommend it. CarolAnn was easy to work with, was communicative and quickly responded to any questions we had. We truly enjoyed our time here and were sad to have to leave. We would definitely stay here again!

“Our favorite rental house”

This place was totally modern and updated yet so warm and cozy. Spotless and pretty much flawless top to bottom. High tech yet easy to use amenities at the touch of your fingertips. I never thought I’d have so much fun watching the pellet stove operate. It was the perfect size for our family and we can’t wait to book again.

We had a relaxing weekend getaway at Hartley Chalet. Such a beautiful and peaceful community, and very well appointed home. I loved reading my book by the fireplace in the morning, checking out the state parks during the day, and we did a bonfire out back at night. We will definitely return and recommend this home to other families.

Absolutely!! Families are welcome. We have various games, books, wooden building blocks, Retro game console, available for children. We have a Pack n’ Play, but no formal crib. Our home is not child proofed, but we do have baby gates, cabinet locks and electrical outlet plugs available for use.

We are located within 2 hours from Philadelphia, New York City, and North Jersey. It is very easy to get here as we are close to many major thoroughfares.

People with allergies should note that we do own two dogs who visit the cabin periodically.

Minimum age limit for renters: 25

Tobyhanna Township Short Term Rental Ordinance has set our minimum age to 25 years old, and that person must stay the duration of the trip. https://tobyhannatownshippa.gov/str/

Maximum occupancy: 8

Township ordinance allows us to rent to 8 people max for short term rentals (stays 29 days or less.) Only those listed on the reservation are to occupy our home.

House Rules

No excessive noise or unruly behavior. We are not a party house; respect our home & neighbors.

No sub leasing. This is illegal in our area.

No fireworks or floating lanterns. We are in a heavily wooded area, so this is a major fire hazard and not allowed under any circumstances.

We have Driveway Parking for 3-4 cars depending on car size & No street parking is allowed. If you have large vehicles, please only plan on 3 cars max for our driveway.

Follow Trash disposal Instructions Posted at House.

No garbage disposal. All food waste goes in trash.

Flush toilet paper only. Do not flush wipes, feminine products, etc.

Firewood for outdoor bonfires is not guaranteed. If we have some at house you are welcome to use some. You can purchase firewood bundles at most area big box stores.

Payment Policy

We require a 50% Deposit Upon Booking. The remaining 50% Balance is Due 30 Days Prior to Check-In. If you book within 30 days of your check-in date, 100% will be due at time of booking. We accept payment directly through Houfy which is powered by Stripe. We also accept payment outside of Houfy via Zelle, Venmo, Cash or Checks. However If paying outside of Houfy, the “Houfy protect” damage protection option is not possible.

Damage Deposit Policy

As a security deposit alternative, houfyProtect, an upfront nonrefundable low cost property damage protection policy for just $5 per night, is taken at time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

FALL, WINTER, SPRING POLICY:
Full refund for cancellations up to 30 days before check-in. If booked fewer than 30 days before check-in, full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in. After that, 50% refund up to 7 days before check-in. No refund after that.

SUMMER CANCELLATION POLICY:
Nonrefundable unless the property is rebooked at the equivalent rate or better.

TRAVEL INSURANCE SUGGESTION:
We suggest guests purchase travel insurance (and ideally a Cancel for Any Reason policy) for peace of mind for your vacation investment.
