Neighborhood:
Dolores Heights is centrally located between the Castro, Noe Valley and the Mission. It includes Mission Dolores -- the oldest building in San Francisco, and Dolores Park -- one of the most popular parks in the city. As you may know, the Castro (centered 4 blocks west) is the historic gay center of San Francisco -- it features restaurants, bars, the Castro Theater, shopping, and an ever-increasing number of coffee shops and day spas. The Mission (centered 3 blocks east) is a historically Latino neighborhood. It, too, features restaurants, bars, the Roxie Theater, shopping and an ever-increasing number of coffee shops and boutiques.

Access:
Private entrance to your own efficiency studio (including bathroom) - this is not just a room in a house! You will be assigned a unique code that you can use to access the unit at any time during your stay: no keys needed.

Transit:
San Francisco has excellent public transportation, and all of it is easily accessible from here.
The Muni J-Church line is two blocks away and will take you downtown; it also connects with other lines that can take you to virtually any part of SF. The Castro and Church stations are four blocks away.

The 22, 24, 33, and F all stop within 2-4 blocks of the apartment and will take you to various parts of the city.

BART is also nearby -- the 16th & Mission station is only five blocks away.

There is a bike share station 18th and Dolores street 3 blocks away. In fact, everything you need is easily walkable, so you don't need a car.

If you do have a car, free on-street parking is available. Parking spots are typically ample, and with notice you can use the private spot in front of the driveway. However, there is a 2-hour parking limit for non-resident vehicles from 8am to 9pm Monday through Friday. That means you need to move your car every two hours during the day. Nights are easier -- if you park your car after 7pm you can leave it there until 10am the next morning.

All that being said, temporary parking permits are available. They eliminate the 2-hour restriction so that you can park all day. Please contact us for availability and pricing.

Notes:
You can stay up to 28 days with us, and we will provide you with fresh towels and bedding, soap, coffee, etc. as often as you request it ;)

Please feel free to consult the house manual (click on 'itinerary'), which can be accessed through the website as soon as you book the studio.

For your information: there are two apartments above the studio; you may intersect with the neighbors living above in the stairs area. The neighbors are respectful and quiet. The unit is mostly soundproof, but you may occasionally hear people walking upstairs (as is usually the case in apartments)

Amazing piece of heaven
We loved our stay and Russ was hands down the best host we've ever had. He was very caring, available, and flexible with our requests. The place was supper clean, beautiful design that makes you feel as if you were in a boutique hotel. Perfect location just one block to Dolores Park and walking distance to fantastic bars and restaurants both in The Mission and Castro. I will be staying here next time I'm in SF!

Great location and accommodations
This is a sweet little apartment, great for 1-2 people. We were in town to visit with family and choose this because it was in walking distance to their home. We will definitely stay here again. Very clean, well stocked with nice extras, such as a K coffee machine, creamer, and extra toiletries if you’ve forgotten anything. Wonderful view of downtown from the front landing and window. Nice roomy closet and a very easy to use space heater. Russ was a very helpful landlord, giving us some tips on the bit tricky remote control for the TV. There were a series of stairs leading up to the front door. We managed alright with two suitcases and backpacks. Overall a five star stay.

Nice stay in the Mission
My wife and I had a great time staying here. The place has a nice interior and is within walking distance of Dolores Park, a lot of great bars and restaurants, and a MUNI station which makes it easy to get around the city. Overall, a very nice weekend trip.

Great stay in a great neighborhood
Russ has a great place in a fantastic location steps from Mission Dolores Park with easy access to both the Castro and the Mission neighborhoods. The MUNI J line is very close too, so commuting into the city was a breeze. While small, it's very comfortable with a nice bed, great lighting, and plenty of space to store your stuff. There's kitchenette with microwave, minifridge, keurig and sink. Sodastream was a nice touch. I solo traveled and would definitely consider staying here again the next time I'm in San Francisco.
