Hi, I’m hoping to share a little piece of my world with fellow travelers! My cozy 1br apt is nestled in one of New Yorks most charming and dynamic neighborhoods. My place is bohemian and chic and is surrounded by restaurants, cafés, shops, bars, galleries, parks, museums, and more! You’ll love my home for the location, comfort, and price (in NY terms), and its ideal for couples, solo travelers, 3 friends, or business travelers (I regularly work from home). I hope you’ll enjoy your stay in NY!

House Rules
Check-in: Please coordinate with me ahead of time to let me know approximately what time you will be arriving so I can give you the keys; default check-in time is 4pm, but I can often accommodate an earlier check-in. Otherwise, the building (#225) and apt (3D) keys will be in a Puroma lockbox with a red sticker outside of building #229, located about 30ft west of 225’s entrance (left if facing building). The lockbox (with a red sticker) is next to another lockbox on the fence around the tree outside of building 229 (so make sure you've spotted the correct area and lock box - see photos in check in instructions). At the lockbox, just slide down the black cover over the number dial and put in the code 5891. The big key is for the building entrance (225) and the small one for apt 3D. Please be sure to return the keys to the lockbox when you check out. The big key is for the building door (insert key all the way, then turn left - make sure you turn it as far left as possible) and the other key for the lower lock on the apt door (insert key, then turn left).
-Please take off and leave all shoes by the entrance/coat rack at ALL times to avoid bringing in outside/street grime.

-TV: Just press the power button on the bigger remote to turn the TV on, and use the smaller Roku remote to select Netflix, Amazon Prime, or other channels (availability changes). If you want to listen to music, just plug in your laptop or phone to the subwoofer/speaker cord behind the TV (cord has a light green end). Then look for the circular dial and slide the side button on.
-The top 3 (2 small, 1 large) dresser drawers are empty for your use. Also feel free to hang any clothes in the closet using the extra hangers.
-Please do not stand or jump on the bed to avoid damaging/breaking it.
-Please be careful to ONLY put small amounts of toilet paper (and NOTHING else) in the toilet to avoid clogging it. There is additional toilet paper in the cabinet below the bathroom sink, and/or above the kitchen cabinets (above the sink).
-Use the small red/blue circle on the shower handle for reference to the direction of hot and cold water, as the big dial on the wall is reversed unfortunately. At times, hot water from the shower and faucets may come out very hot, so please be careful.
-Please be careful with the large hot water pipes (in bedroom and bathroom). Sometimes they can get very hot, so please avoid touching them.
-Please turn off the AC when not in the apt (during late fall/winter/early spring, the AC is unplugged because it’s unnecessary - open windows if you want cold air). The heating is turned on centrally in the building according to NYC regulations, depending on the temperature outside. Once the heat is turned on by the building, you can adjust the heater by the living room window with the knob (on right side, says Open and Close). During the late fall/winter/early spring, I will leave the knob Open by default.
-Help yourself to condiments and oil for cooking, as well as black tea bags (but nothing else, please).
-Iron is in cabinet underneath the kitchen sink, and ironing board is in between the counter and fridge.
-The fire escape can be accessed through the window (please be careful), and smoking is allowed only there.
-If you decide to open the living room window, please set aside the plant anywhere else you'd like as the breeze can sometimes knock the plant over.
-If the trash fills up during your stay, the trash bins are just outside the building to the left when you walk out. New trash bags are under the kitchen sink.
-Extra blankets are in the big closet (but please keep to one towel per guest particularly during short stays of 5 nights or less).
-Please be extra careful to prevent stains on the sofa as it is new.
-For safety and liability reasons, please do not light the candles.
-Please do a basic clean up after yourself, e.g. wash used dishes, place kitchen trash in bins outside, and if you must rearrange any furniture/furnishings during your stay, please return them to their original arrangements (no need to strip the bed sheets or pillows though). The cleaning fee covers only a portion of the actual cost of a cleaning, so I rely on and greatly appreciate guests leaving the place as close as possible to how they found it.
-Please remember to leave the keys in the lockbox, and the spare keys on the dining room table.
-If you have any issues or questions, please text or call me and I will do my best to help make your stay a 5-star experience! Enjoy your stay!
