A private road lined with trees on both sides leads to this luxurious chalet, and you'll be welcomed immediately by the view as you come to the top of the private road and veer right into our driveway!
Experience the comfort and peace of this Mountain Top Paradise with incredible views of Lake St. Catherine, Little Lake, and the surrounding mountains. A peaceful retreat with easy access to all that lake & VT country living has to offer. Such as biking and hiking trails, skiing/snowboarding, and the beautiful Lake St. Catherine golf course.
The house is equipped with a 1.2 GB internet plan, so you and all of your guests should have no problem being and staying connected! We also installed wifi extenders throughout the home, so there should be no drop in wifi inside the home and should cover the deck, fire pit, and grass covered portion of propert. Guests, as well as ourselves, have successfully participated in live video calls whilst staying at the chalet, while all others in the home remained fully connected.
Enjoy the 10'x40' deck where you can sit and watch the sunrise, sunset, and stars. Enjoy your coffee in the morning with a spectacular view of the beautiful lake and the mountains. You can enjoy all this as well while soaking in the outdoor hot tub on the deck!
Light fills the interior of the main level as the front of the home is a wall of windows inviting the beauty of the landscape inside. Even inside the home on the main level, you'll feel engulfed in the outdoor surroundings. The open concept of the kitchen, dining room, and living room creates a unified space complete with a wood burning fireplace.
The main level family room (16'x40') offers a great space for a private spot to curl up with a good book beside a wood burning fireplace, while other members of your group lounge in the other living area.
Somewhat tucked away on the main level, passed the laundry and bathroom, you will find another comfortably sized bedroom with a queen sized bed, TV, closet, and bureaus all for your use. Although not a true en suite, the bathroom on the main level is directly adjacent to this bedroom for easy use and access.
Additionally, there is an equally sized lounge area on the lower level that includes a fireplace, seating, TV, pool table, bar, half bathroom, and office. The office has a 32" monitor that you can plug in via HDMI chord we provide, a wireless printer/scanner/copies, ample sized desk, and an ergonomic chair. There is also a door at this level that leads you directly outdoors under the deck. Here, you will find a gas fueled grill, table, and chairs. The fire pit is located past the grill beyond the deck.
On the upper level, there are two en suites. The master bedroom and twin beds bedroom both have their own full bathrooms. The master bathroom has a full-sized, glass door stand-up shower, two sinks, and a jacuzzi. The twin bedroom bathroom has a standard bathtub/shower for your use.
A brand new hot tub was installed in April of 2022 and is included in the nightly rate during the months of Sept through May. It is NOT included in the rate for the summer months of June through August. However, it can be made available for additional setup/cleaning costs. Just let us know, and we can coordinate how to include it with your stay during the summer months.
The house is one of the two houses on a total of 30 acres, and it sits on its own 10 acres of woodland and grounds.
Please note that the chalet is equipped with a manually operated generator in the rare event of power outage. It provides enough power to the home to keep you comfortable. Should power go out during your stay, we will be notified and will immediately coordinate with you.
You have access to the entire place with few exceptions; no access to garage, lower level storage area, one of the closets in the masters suite, and the refrigerator in the office on the lower level.
We want your stay to be as if you've come to your own personal vacation home. We have attempted to fully stock it with linens, kitchen ware, toiletries, cleaning, and storage supplies so that all you need to bring are your personal belongings and food. We are happy to coordinate and special or specific needs you may have. Just ask, and we'll be happy to do our best to accommodate.
We are here to help and make sure your stay is as comfortable and easy as possible. We are available via phone, email, or text anytime to answer questions. We rent the whole home out for your stay and expect to communicate with you only if you have any questions or if something requires our input during your stay.
The Mons Pace is located in a small town of Wells, Vermont. A very quaint agricultural farming town situated by Lake St Catherine and the mountain ranges. The town is comprised of 457 people and borders with Granville, New York. The Mons Pace is set on top of a hill with one neighbor and accessed with a private road.
Dorset, Manchester and Rutland are nearby towns/cities that offer more opportunities for shopping, but please check out our guide book for additional information. We are happy to offer more detail too, just ask and we'll be happy to help!
You need a car, as there is no public transportation or Uber/Lyft of any kind.
Please note that if you are staying with us between Dec and May, you'll need to have an AWD, 4WD or higher horsepower front wheel drive vehicle to climb the private road to our driveway.
The road and driveway will be plowed and sanded, but it is a steep grade to get up and it has been our experience that rear wheel drive and front wheel drive cars with fair tires have had difficulty getting up the private road. Please check that you don't have summer or low tread tires if traveling during the winter or mud season. You will not make it up the plowed/sanded private road leading to our driveway. (We note this b/c this has happened with a few guests.)
Please note that there is an additional charge per person/per night for overnight guests beyond 6 of $25/per person/night.
Please also note that pets live at the chalet and are allowed to accompany guests at the chalet. If you have allergies or are sensitive to pet’s hair or dander, the chalet may not be a good fit for you. Although we clean every nook and cranny of our home in between each stay, we can not guarantee it to be free of pet hair and dander.
Another note, the chalet isn’t child proof. However, we welcome families and their children of all ages. If you are bringing children, please let us know if there is anything specific we can do to help you be most comfortable during your stay.
ANOTHER note: Due owner’s allergies to CATS, cats aren’t allowed to stay at the chalet. No exception.
We are a NON-SMOKING property. If you are a smoker and unable to adhere to our policy, our home may not be suitable for you.
