Casita Gundry is part of a quiet, residential, historic neighborhood in Long Beach with tree-lined streets and loads of charm. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping in uptown Bixby Knolls/California Heights historic district of Long Beach. Five minutes from Long Beach Airport (LGB), Casita Gundry has close highway access and is a perfect spot central to LA and Orange County (and not far from San Diego) for discovering and exploring all of Southern California.

This cozy and remodeled casita offers a private entrance, quaint full kitchenette, and private patio/yard with grill. It features 580 sq. ft of living space, a restored vintage clawfoot soaker tub with shower combo, AC/heat, walk-in closet, private laundry, and streaming televisions with local channels in each bedroom. All three mattresses are very comfortable. Casita Gundry comfortably sleeps 1 to 3 adults, with a maximum occupancy of 5 guests (max occupancy may feel a bit snug.) Up to 2 pets allowed with pre-approval from host. Contactless check-in and accommodations. Using a virtual key, guests are welcome to self-check-in and access the casita’s smart lock through their own mobile phones. However, guests also have the option to be greeted by a host upon arrival. 2 driveway parking spaces (tandem/uncovered) exclusive to guests. There is no dedicated inside eating area. We encourage dining al fresco on the private garden patio. Since neighborhood is residential, there is a 10 pm noise curfew. No smoking. No parties. Compliant with enhanced cleaning, disinfecting, and hosting reservation guidelines. Local points of interest and recommendations can be found in the Casita Gundry Home Manual. Very cute place. Lots of nice extras. Everything in order and as described. Excellent communication. I particularly enjoyed the robes. Very honest listing. No inside eating area. He even sent the layout of the place as soon as I booked to make sure it fit our needs. The virtual key worked great, even for me who is not particularly tech saavy. Bathtub very nice to soak in. Washing machine/dryer was quirky but Lars very honest about it and when he says don't use it on checkout day, follow his advice! Or go home with soaking wet clothes like I did! The second bedroom was difficult to control the temperature in but my daughter didn't mind and there was a fan provided that she used. Beds very comfy. Everything very clean. I would stay here again. The off street parking was a nice feature but street parking in the area is very easy. We walked all over the place easily. Try Rad Coffee around the corner. Amazing. Thanks for a great stay, Lars!

Intimate and a Memory Maker
I’ve never had a host as responsive as Lars. Seriously, his responsiveness helped so much in making sure this stay would be as memorable as possible. Casita Gundry was intimate, cozy, and just know it is small, but even with my group pushing the limits of guest size (recommended three but maximum 5), we were able to make it work and enjoy the space entirely. Casita Gundry if anything, is an amazing memory maker, being able to turn a space as intimate as it is, into orbs of light you’ll remember forever. Thank you so much Lars, thank you for the sweet treats given, and for curating such a beautiful and clean space.

We definitely enjoyed our stay here and Lars accompanied us with delicious pantries for humans and dogs! My dog loved the homemade treats and we truly appreciated how responsive and kind Lars was as a host! The only downside to this listing was the amount of mosquitoes that were around and in the home. However, Lars did help us out with some bug repellent. Otherwise the home was really cozy and comfortable. If you are looking for a small getaway for a couple days with a few friends, this would be a great spot to list!

Lars always comes through last minute we needed to make reservations due to having massive renovations on our home Lars made sure our reservation was top priority and ensured we would have peace of mind soon. Lars goes above and beyond as a host very prompt and ready not only that he anticipates a need before it manifests he is kind of a guru of his craft My daughter Tulip adored the treats Lars and Bonnie left for us. He heard her sadness upon checking in and was willing to go the extra mile. Lars really has been an extension of family and very trustworthy. I have no real words to describe how I feel but Lars was the key story to our adventure. We had tremendous repairs on our home and Lars took all the pain and suffering away From the moment we walked inside we had a hand written note that said welcome. In today’s age it is hard to have anything that is hand written. It was a lovely touch and it made me feel welcome and comfortable. The place is charming and has character. The blue tile in the kitchen is elegant and is a wonderful touch. My daughter and cat felt extremely welcome and felt right at home. The deep tub in the bathroom took all my Colgan take me away fears away. Plain and simple this was our home away from home and it is not replaceable. Thank you Lars for making us feel blessed and highly favored in the universe any worry you took away immediately with out fail

Cute casita in a safe and very walkable neighborhood. Excellent communication - just the right amount of info from the host to make sure you have everything you need and more! Everything you need to know is either in the house manual or on cute little signage throughout the casita, and the host is very easy to reach if needed. Very private as well if that’s your vibe! Automatic / keyless check in and out. Last but not least, we never felt more taken care of with the homemade treats and Porto Bakery goodies, beverages, breakfast options, etc. Thank you for a great stay! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if ever in Long Beach!

Guest will receive an invitation to setup a virtual key which will allow you to access the casita’s smart lock through your phone and during your stay. Upon arrival, they can check-in with the on-site host of self-check-in with their virtual key.

House Rules
- Any pet(s) must be announced, described, and approved suitable prior to booking a reservation. Along with the private patios, there is additionally a large fenced-in grassy backyard. With pets, we get leery of property destruction and hygiene as we take a lot of pride in detail and cleanliness in taking care of the casita. Excessive barking or other loud pet noises are not suitable for the neighborhood. We ask that guests always pick up after pets. They are not to be placed on beds or furniture, nor allowed inside the restored vintage clawfoot tub. Pets should not be left alone on the property. Addtional pet fees and damage deposit may apply.

- Two private driveway parking spaces (tandem/uncovered) are reserved for Casita Gundry guests.

- No smoking inside casita

- No parties

– Noise curfew is 10 p.m. due to residential neighborhood rules. Quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

– Alcohol consumption is permitted on the property during suitable hours. (Note that the legal drinking age is 21 and over.)

- Housekeeping service during the interim of your stay is not included in the standard Casita Gundry booking. Any cleaning fee collected is for a one-time cleaning after your checkout. If daily housekeeping service is needed, that can be an added item to your stay for an additional fee. For extended stays, we offer to change your sheets and towels weekly for fresh and clean bedding and bath linens at no extra expense.

- Upon check-out, Casita Gundry is expected to be reasonably cleaned-up. All trash and recycling should be emptied into the city bins just outside of casita near the back of the main house. absolutely no heavy food waste should be disposed in any sinks. Please use garbage disposal switch when needed to break down residual food waste when wishing dishes. Some cleaning supplies and kitchen towels are provided in the casita kitchen for basic cleaning.

- Avoid using numerous electrical appliances at the same time.
