The home: On the edge of Colorado Springs, nestled between the two quaint, historic Colorado mountain towns of Manitou Springs and Woodland Park - this luxurious mountain house sits at 8200 ft at the base of Pikes Peak with quick access to endless unique local amenities, dining, and attractions. Forget about the chain restaurants, you’ll be captivated by the local cuisine and artisanship of the Rockies. Come home after a day of hiking, shopping, or scenic driving through the mountains just 2 minutes off the highway to a relaxing mountainside retreat in this unique 5600 sq ft Colorado custom Rustic Sheek home on over 1/2 an acre. It couldn’t be more ideal for large family vacations or reunions/gatherings of friends. The expansive living room boasts soaring windows & wall-to-wall mountain views. The kitchen is a chef’s dream with stainless steel appliances, 5 burner gas cook top, a large wine bottle cooler, gorgeous granite kitchen counters and your own coffee/tea bar. Enjoy family time together in the large theatre/game room with a brand new 58 inch flat screen, foos ball table, and a beautifully restored 110 year old pool table in the adjacent stone wall billiard room. This is the perfect place for adults to unwind with panoramic windows capturing Colorado’s outdoor beauty. Walk out to the open private fenced back yard and enjoy the jaw dropping views of the Rockies while you relax in the largest hot tub available. The expansive wood decking surrounding the outdoor heated pool allows you to entertain while you enjoy your backyard oasis and marvel at the majestic mountain views. Fun Fact: This property is rumoured to have once been a recording studio and mountain retreat for artists such as Led Zepplin, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, & Van Zant.
Sleeping Accommodations: The home is outfitted with several brand new luxury REM adjustable beds. The main level bedroom is equipped with a queen size bed and an adjacent 3/4 bath. Up the floating stairs, the owner’s oasis includes a king size bed, a daybed and a glorious two person shower & soaking tub. There are 2 more bathrooms upstairs, one with a shower and one with a shower/tub. One other bedroom boasts a kids dream sleeping area - adults mind your head- but climb up a ladder up to a bridge crossing to a loft with a full size bedroom outfitted with a queen size bed. Below you will find an extra long full size bed and crib if needed. Also upstairs is another bedroom with a twin boat bed and pull out trundle. The 5th room has 2 more roomy full-size extra long adjustable beds where you can take in the beautiful mountain views from most windows, as well as an above the bed skylight: enjoy star gazing as you drift off to sleep! If needing more bed space there is an additional chair that converts nicely to a single bed for a child, as well as 2 twin mattresses and two queen size air mattresses available upon request.
Community: Named for nearby waterfalls, Cascade beckons to visitors as the front door to Pikes Peak, the countrys most visited mountain. We know you will love your stay in our scenic mountain town of Cascade, among these Pikes Peak foothills and just minutes from Colorado Springs. If you are looking for a mountain retreat centrally located yet not your average neighborhood home than this is the place. With numerous hiking trails right outside your door, and a prime locale for so many tourist attractions - it really is the perfect launching point for all the front range has to offer.
Getting around: A short three minute drive will take you to the entrance to Pikes Peak Highway, and the famous amusement park the North Pole, (open May through December). The unheralded Wines of Colorado is walking distance from the house - a happening hot spot for creek side dining or wine tasting and a must do while you’re here. Ten minutes drive will put you in downtown Manitou Springs, where you can hunt for fountains in the quaint streets and sample underground natural spring water, known for its high mineral content. Here you will also find an abundance of shops and restaurants, a famous penny arcade, zip lining, and satisfy your sweet tooth with plenty of candy, chocolate shops and ice cream shops. Green Mountain Falls is only 5 minutes up the pass where you can have lunch and stroll along Gazebo Lake. Also within a 10 minute drive is the entrance to Cave Of the Winds and the famous towering red rocks of Garden of the Gods. The very happening downtown Colorado Springs is less than a 15 minutes drive. Only 25 minutes and you are at the South Gate to the renowned United States Air Force Academy. A short twenty minutes will take you to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, recently named the 4th best zoo in North America, and countless other attractions in southern Colorado Springs. Keep heading west up the pass and discover Woodland Park - a charming mountain town, home to the famous Donut Mill, and the site of the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center. Woodland Park is also home to Colorado Wolf Adventures and for a more relaxed evening, try one of the outstanding local breweries. If you come in the winter - day trips to world renowned ski slopes such as Breckenridge, are less than 2 hours away.
Getting here: Fly in to the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) for a quick door to door transfer of only 30 minutes or take an hour and a half and drive the scenic route from Denver (DEN).
