We had a lovely stay over Christmas with our toddler and our dog, and the place was perfect. Very cozy but with enough space upstairs for our son to play. We loved the design and decor, and being right in the woods with 2 decks. We would absolutely stay again!

We loved our stay in Big Bear and would definitely return. The cabin was close enough to town while having a secluded feel. We had everything we needed. The games were a fun addition.

Melissa is great! I was up there during the Line Fire. She was very helpful, supportive, flexible, and kind. Air BnB was useless and their policies but Melissa approved things and made things happen. Would 100% stay at her place. For the house. Its great if you want easy access the nature. There is a National Forest .10 miles away that I took my dogs on hikes at. The sauna was nice to use at the end of the day. The upper deck is nice to sit on at night. I hope to be able to go back at some point and enjoy the house.

The place is nestled comfortably in a quiet neighborhood, and being a remote worker, the peacefulness and fast WiFi was what I needed. Melissa was always quick to cordially respond to any questions I had.

Melissa was an amazing host! Super proactive and responsive! The cabin itself was super cute with lots of warm touches. The houses are very close together so there is not much privacy on the deck and the patio furniture was unfortunately uncovered when we arrived and so was a little dirty. But otherwise, a great stay!

We had a great time in Big Bear at Melissa's place. Melissa is fantastic to communicate with and is very quick to answer any questions. Her cabin was perfect for us. It had everything we needed and was cozy and felt like we were tucked away in the mountains. We happened on a few of the neighbors and they were friendly and helpful. There is an access to trails in the San Bernardino forest at the end of her street which was nice for a quick hike. We went on a trip with TOURZILLA and it was likely the best trip/excursion we've ever taken. The Guide was a lifetime local and gave us a great deal of history of Big Bear and took us up into the mountains that we wouldn't have gotten to on our own. Big Bear itself is fun. It's easy to get around and has a couple of good grocery stores and lots of restaurants. We didn't ski but through the week it looked ideal. The runs were not crowded and there weren't any lineups for the chair lifts.

Meet the Host

I love the outdoors and first visited charming Big Bear when lived in Las Vegas back in 2008. I would escape to Big Bear every few months for some seasonal beauty and respite from the desert. Come enjoy the crisp fall air and pretty foliage, winter sports, singing birds and summer lake at the sweet retreat - Cabin 805!
