The boathouse was beautiful, peaceful, and private, and matched the description and photos. Mark and Michele gave thorough instructions on finding the place and were very accommodating. I definitely would stay there again. It was very clean, well stocked, and they provided a lot of recommendations for excellent restaurants and things to do.

A spot so nice, now we've stayed twice!! We came back to Downingtown to visit some gardens and have an excellent dinner at La Sponda in the autumn. Really happy to have the Boat House available for a cozy crash in a different season. So many nearby restaurants and sightseeing options, you won't regret your stay here!

We stayed for 2 nights at this adorable Boat House rental and were not disappointed! It was a hidden gem, nestled in a natural park like setting, yet walkable to town with shops, restaurants and a brewery. Plus a close drive to antique stores, Longwood Gardens and other Brandywine attractions. Small touches like the stocked kitchen, great coffee bar set-up, and host provided linens and soaps, made the rental extra welcoming. And host Michelle was super responsive and friendly. It was an A+++ rental!

Michele was such a gracious host! What a beautiful and serene location. Great space that had all the comforts needed to stay on location or walk to the many restaurants nearby. Michelle made sure a special touch was added to have some of my husband’s favorite snack foods while he was there to stay for a few days. Who does that? Appreciate the above and beyond care and hospitality more than you will know. Thank you for sharing such a great space with us. Would stay her again without hesitation. Thank you!

This was a great little spot for my husband and I to spend the weekend. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing couple of days. We loved that we could walk to a great restaurant (East Branch brewing Co) and some decent ice cream (The Creamery at the Farmhouse). Downingtown is really a lovely not-so-small town.

The location & view were appealing for us. The airbnb is steps away from the creek / river, and you are also a short walk away from restaurants. The other side of the water is a park where people often walk by playing disc golf, and we had a few people on the private property and on the opposing side fishing, so don't expect TOO much privacy, but the other people weren't a bother. We loved seeing all the wildlife -- ducks, birds, etc. The bed was comfortable. Lots of natural light inside the house. Probably wouldn't stay again solely based on the total averaging out to about 240 per night, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay!

My wife and I needed a little weekend away for some peace and quiet! The boat house did not disappoint. I fished all day and my wife was watching the ducks and the heron. The rain made things adventurous. We have a smaller city type car. The path from the main drive down to the boat house is off road. If had rained before we arrived we would not have made it down to the house. There is a parking lot we used to make sure we didn't get stuck. I'm very glad we did that because the big rain caused the creek to rise up over the banks and flooded the yard. I would absolutely come back soon. Be aware of the water level and the car path though.

We raised two beautiful daughters, have 5 fantastic grandchildren and Mark is part of 5 generations of this town. When these iconic homes became available we simply couldn't resist and hope you love them as much as we do!
