Bluegill Cabin is the quintessential northern Wisconsin cabin; cozy, private, with lots of rustic charm. Situated on nearly 2 acres of land and over 100 feet of lake frontage, there is something for every outdoor enthusiast! The lake is 26 acres of spring-fed clear water; perfect for fishing, swimming, kayaking, floating, or watching the loons, turtles, and otters. This is a no-wake lake and motorized watercraft are prohibited, keeping our water and shoreline clean and pristine! (We provide PFDs, paddles, 4 kayaks, two paddle boards, a row-boat, and floating foam swim mat for your use.) For those looking for big water or water skiing, a boat launch into Fishtrap Lake is about a mile away, along with easy access to many other larger lakes and rivers in the area. Off the water, you will find access to the Chequamegon National Forest right across the street. Hikers and ATV users can access many miles of trail system within minutes of the cabin.

The main cabin was hand-built in the early 70’s, and is primitive but very functional and comfortable! The main cabin has two bedrooms, a lofted area (accessible by a primitive ladder), one and a half baths, dining area, and well-appointed full kitchen with all the gadgets you may need. The cabin is also well-stocked with board games, tv/dvd player (and movies) for rainy days. High-speed internet is also included suitable for remote work and streaming your favorite content on the smart TV if you need it.

There is a bunk-house about 30 yards from the main cabin. There is no running water in the bunk-house, but it is surprisingly spacious and can be used for sleeping if guests want to use it. It offers a quiet night’s sleep or place to relax away from the main cabin and kids really love it. The garage on site can be used to store a boat or ATV during your visit.

Policies and Rules

Check In: 4PM - Flexible

Guests may check in any time after 4:00. Early check in may be possible but must be approved prior to arriving to make sure we have enough time to get the property ready after the previous guests leave. There is a digital keypad lock on the cabin door. This is also the code for the lock on the garage. The code for the door locks will be emailed to you the morning of your arrival date.

House Rules

1. Only pets that have been pre-approved are allowed on the property
2. Smoking or vaping of any kind is not allowed inside the cabin or the bunkhouse. Any cigarette butts must be properly disposed of and not left anywhere outside. Do not throw butts into the woods or yard.
3. The septic system is located just west of the cabin between the manhole access cover and the pipe sticking up out of the ground. Do not park or drive any vehicles including ATVs in this area as it could collapse the septic field.
4. The property has a septic system, and therefore, Guest is aware that only toilet paper is to be flushed down the toilet. NO NOT flush any baby wipes, 'flushable' wipes, diapers, floss, feminine products, paper towels or anything else other than the toilet paper provided by us as it is meant for septic systems.
5. Guest acknowledges and agrees the person booking the reservation is required to be in and on the Property at all times during the reservation period; and the contact person for the reservation is the person who made the reservation;
6. Guest acknowledges and agrees no more than ten (10) persons may be in/on the Property at one time;
7. Out of respect for neighbors, quite time is from 10:00pm to 8:00am every day including weekends.
8. Guests should leave the property in the same condition as it was in when they arrived. This includes putting kayaks, SUPs, Boats, PFDs and any other furniture or games back in their original locations when the reservation began.
9. Cleaning fish should only be done at the lakefront.
10. Trash bins are located in the garage. Please do not leave them outside. There are bears and animals in the area that love to dig through trash.
11. Do not leave any food outside overnight.

Payment Policy

We accept Venmo and Zelle for payment. A $500 deposit is required to hold your reservation with the full final payment due 30 days prior to your arrival.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations may be cancelled for a full refund up to 30 days in advance of the start of your stay. After that time no refunds will be possible.
