CREEKFRONT! CREEKFRONT! In the beautiful Tusquittee Valley of Hayesville NC!

Blackwell Branch Cabin...It's all about the creek. And the pond. And the woods. And the mountains beyond. Peace, nature, serenity. Fall asleep to the sounds of the rushing creek right outside the windows. Open the French doors and let the fresh breeze in. Enjoy morning coffee on the wrap-around deck overlooking the rushing creek, watch deer in the meadow and geese in the pond. Relax in the evening on the rocking chair porch. Let the kids run-- they'll love the 2-story playhouse.

Blackwell Branch Cabin is bordered by two creeks-- it sits right on rushing Tusquittee Creek which can be heard from every room in the cabin and in addition, there is another small creek ("Blackwell Branch") that runs along the western edge of the property. This smaller creek is perfect for younger kids to mess around in and get their feet wet, exploring under rocks for salamanders and frogs. The cabin boasts wide wrap-around decks, a rocking chair front porch and even a two-story playhouse for the kids! A large section of the rear deck is closed off with gates to keep your small children and pet secure. There's a large fire-pit for nighttime campfires right on the banks of the creek.

Interior: 3 bedrooms & 2 full baths (1450sf)

Upstairs is the master bedroom loft with queen-size four-poster bed, two closets and one large dresser. The second bedroom upstairs has a single bed with a pull-out trundle, and closet. Between the two bedrooms is a full bath with shower/tub and a large closet to stash away all your things. The third bedroom is downstairs with queen bed, closet and large dresser with TV. Next to it is the other bathroom which has an old-fashioned claw-foot soaking tub, perfect for unwinding after a day on the trails. (The stacked washer/dryer is in a closet in this bathroom.)

The downstairs living space has an open plan with kitchen open to the dining room and living room. Dining room has a large farm-style table. There is a second smaller table in the dining room area for games & puzzles and setting up your laptop. The living room has a large wrap-around sectional sofa w/recliner that sits right in front of the river-rock hearth and wood-burning stove, and a large HD TV. Kitchen, dining room and living room all open out to the wide, wrap-around decks with the creek right outside. The large rocking chair front porch is a great place to watch for deer as they trek from the pond and up the mountain at the end of the day.

The property: The cabin sits on three wooded acres along Tusquittee Creek, level, with a gravel pull-through drive. Serenity Lane is a dead-end road with only four homes-- the first is Gili's Cove Cottage (our sister property-- see VRBO #659518), next are the wooded lots, then Blackwell Branch Cabin, another wooded lot (1+acres), then our own home and beyond our home at the dead-end is our one and only neighbor. We own all the wooded property between Gili's Cove Cottage and the Cabin, so children (and grown-ups) can feel free to wander among the trees and wildflowers. There is no traffic on our little lane other than ourselves. Parents can feel comfortable allowing their children to run and play around the property, in the woods, along the creek and around the pond without fear of traffic or strangers.

Internet, TV and telephone: Keeping in mind that cellular service here in our little corner of the mountains can be somewhat erratic, we've provided a landline telephone (unlimited long distance in the continental US) and hi-speed internet (Wi-Fi) to help you keep in touch. TV is provided by DirectTV and a Roku streaming device lets you use your Netflix, Hulu and other apps.

Equipment & supplies:

Bedrooms & baths: All sheets and towels are provided, with extras in the linen closet. Bathrooms are supplied with bar soap, liquid hand soap, extra toilet paper and Kleenex, and hairdryer.

Kitchen is fully equipped: microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, hand-mixer, all pots & pans, dishwasher soap and liquid dish soap, hand soap, paper towels.

Living room: Starter supply of wood for wood-burning stove is provided. For the big fire-pit out by the creek, you'll find plenty of dead-fall wood on the property.

Reading library, games & puzzles: You’ll find a large collection of books of all types in the bookcase and nightstands. A supply of jigsaw puzzles and games is also provided.

“Great communication and lots of information!”
Great communication and lots of information! From arrival to departure our family had an amazing time. The property was private, beautiful and there were many trails to enjoy, a pond for fishing and a beautiful creek. When we first arrived we were greeted by Linda and given a tour of the house. She had fresh picked flowers, a bottle of sparkling apple cider, a treat from a popular local store and even a few dog treats for our pup waiting for us. The cabin was so clean and organized and the house was stocked with everything we would need for our stay. There were so many special touches including filled bird and squirrel feeders, dry firewood, plenty of outside seating and so much more. Linda provided great communication and so much information about the surrounding area and recommended fun things to do. We loved the app too. We will look forward to visiting again!

“Third time back!”
This was our third time staying at Blackwell Branch cabin and it definitely will not be our last. The cabin is very clean and well stocked. Jorge makes the prettiest flower arrangements. Our favorite part is sitting by the creek reading a book or lying in the hammock. The sound of the creek soothes the soul. I highly recommend Blackwell Branch to anyone who is looking to relax and de-stress.

“Most Gorgeous Property”
Most gorgeous property! This exceeded our expectations! The cabin is such a quaint, comfortable, well-equipped home on the most gorgeous property. Honestly, the pictures are beautiful but don’t do it’s justice. The owners make you feel welcome and even left treats and goodies for our two daughters! Dog treats were left for our pups and we felt they were welcomed in the cabin. We told her which type of dogs we had and she had old towels and linens for us to use to cover their furniture which was so nice to not have to travel with and even had gates to keep our pups downstairs. The property is stunning. The creek was so fun for our girls and dogs. We walked the whole path which they keep mowed AND we saw small planes take off and land on the grass strip just beyond the water. It was truly a dream. We ate out in town but also ate in twice. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and grill worked great. I was amazed at how well the home and property was maintained. We weren’t running into spider webs or having to brush off furniture outside. It was all ready for us. The girls also loved the playhouse. Simply adorable. We really hope to be back. We rafted the Nantahala with our girls (11 & 9) and the drive was nice. Super cute towns all around. You won’t regret your stay here. We promise!!

“Recommend Heartedly to Others”
Thank you Linda and Jorge for creating such a beautiful and well-equipped place for us to stay! Very cool and relaxing during the summer heat! Enjoyed our time in the creek and fishing in the pond and watching/naming the wildlife. We had never stayed in SW NC mountains and enjoyed getting to know Hayesville and N GA was only minutes away. But I can't say enough about our hosts - they were available for any question and so generous with time and great recommendations. Hope we can come back again sometime and will recommend to others wholeheartedly.

“Everything That You Could Need”
Everything that you could need. We enjoyed our time here, and we would definitely stay here again. The cabin was very well stocked with everything that you could need, and it was very clean and secure. The creek is beautiful and as their description mentioned you could hear it clearly from the house. Very relaxing and tranquil. The kids absolutely loved meandering down to the creek to throw rocks in and walk (carefully) through the water. My husband caught several fish in the pond near the house. The trail along the creek was my favorite. The surrounding area is so peaceful to drive through. The only thing I’d like to mention to other travelers not from the area is to be prepared to have little to no cell service if you do not have Verizon. Make sure before you leave the house to have your destination ready to go in your phone, because you surely won’t have service in a lot of areas. Despite this we always made it back to the house with little to no trouble.

“Perfect Place to Step Away”
The location is the perfect place to step away from the grind. The creek out the back provides a relaxing back drop. The temperature is so nice under the trees. We enjoyed the firepit by the creek. The kitchen is stocked with most any cooking items you need. Linda's hospitality is top notch. She provided a special treat with fresh strawberries, sparkling cider, crackers, and even fresh flowers. Our family highly recommends!!

Weekend get-away
This was the nicest and most well stocked rental that we have ever stayed at. The owner met with us when we arrived and shared all the information that you could ever need about the property . When we arrived, there were fresh flowers and snacks for us and our pups. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and then some . The creek is steps away from the house and is so peaceful. The property is beautiful with a walking path goes along the creek and around the pond. We saw deer every day in the field across the creek and also in the lot by the cabin . I caught some pretty nice trout in the creek also ,Would definitely stay here again.
