This apartment is located on the 1st floor of a gorgeous 19th-century brownstone with a grand entry, double doors, large windows with shades, and wooden floors throughout the unit. Very high ceilings and two fireplaces add charm to the apartment. The neighborhood is tranquil, making it an ideal spot to relax after a busy day. Short commute to midtown. Great authentic restaurant in the area. Park and subway station 2 blocks away. Host resides in the other room and available if you need anything.

This is a pretty place with incredible woodwork and gorgeous wood floors. I can see why we should not wear shoes in that house--to preserve those floors. It was super clean. The neighborhood was quiet and within walking distance of lots of things. Just a few notes for folks: It's all one big open space, so make sure to use the pocket doors for privacy. I didn't notice them until we were getting ready to leave (I'm not a super visual person). If you are using the futon in the living room, make sure to use one of the mattress pads. Maria was very responsive to questions before and during our stay.

Perfect for spending a long weekend and visiting New York for a few days with the metro very close. Place as described, Maria really flexible and we were even able to drop off our luggage in the morning to enjoy our first day and also were able to do a late checkout.

Half the receptacles don't work. Used the provided hair dryer and it tripped the breaker which was no where to be found so we were left with no power in the bathroom, kitchen, and living area for 12 hours, when we asked where the breaker was host didn't tell us and power was not restored until we had already checked out. Bike locks get stuck and are hard to lock and unlock.

You can’t beat the price- and I was so pleased with the amount of space we got with it. You essentially have two separate sleeping areas- great for my teenager and myself to have a little space after long days! There are several tube stops conveniently located, and great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Very easy to find and to check in/out. Clean and surprisingly quiet. There are complimentary ear plugs but we never needed them. I would stay at one of Maria’s properties again with no hesitation. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Everything was exactly as pictured and as promised. Maria was amazingly thorough and prompt in her communications making her very easy to work with. The place was super clean-- spotless and dust free. Spacious, clutter free and comfortable, it was a nice sanctuary from city streets. My whole experience was easy and satisfying. Next time I need to be in Harlem, I'll keep my fingers crossed that Maria's place will be available!

My family and I had a great stay here. High ceilings, beautiful wood work, and classic pocket doors gives the place a grand feel. We loved the neighborhood and the walkability to many things. 125th is a bit of a walk, but worth it to see many local attractions. We will try to stay here again during our next trip to NYC. Maria was a great host who communicates really well which lead to an easy checkin/checkout! The apartment was well kept, very spacious and is located next to some city bicycles and a subway for an easy transport to NYC. Overall, we felt safe during our stay and had a great stay! The only thing I would say is that parking is not guaranteed, although I was able to find parking every night on weekends. Other than that, I would highly recommend Maria to anyone considering booking in Harlem.
