Come watch the river flow by from the porch swing! This cozy riverfront cabin with all the comforts of home is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Enjoy unforgettable memories, relaxing in the hot tub, swinging on the porch, or sitting around the campfire or with your feet in the river, listening to the peace and quiet and calls of the many birds in the trees around you. All pots, pans, and utensils are provided along with a coffee maker and toaster. All linens are provided for maximum sleeping capacity.

Bedroom Arrangement: 1 Queen Bed, 1 Double Bed attached to upper Twin Bed, 1 Sofa Bed, pack and play

Come relax on one of two spacious decks- an upper and a lower with a porch swing!
Bubbly hot tub- Relaxation for all seasons!
Paddle down the river on one of 2 included canoes. Dont forget to wear your life jacket! (Both Child and Adult sizes provided)
Cuddle up in front of the indoor gas fireplace.
Fully equipped kitchen- feel free to check with us if theres a specific item you need!
Stay connected if youd like with High-speed Internet!
Snuggle up on the couch and watch Satellite TV or pick a movie from the DVD library!
We know you dont want to do laundry, but just in case you need to theres a washer and dryer waiting there for you.

Some other things to note about Bear Valley:

-The fireplace is only available from October - March.

- Check-in is 3 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available, ask us!

- The base rate includes 1 guest. Each additional guest is $40 per night. Please read the itemized charges carefully!

-There is no trash service in this area. We ask that you please take your trash with you- there is information in the cabin on where to go to take it so that you dont have to take it all the way home with you!
Alternatively, housekeeping can remove it for you for a tip of $5 per bag.

- Bear Valley has a security camera located on the property, pointed toward the driveway.

We are convenient to the Shenandoah River (in the backyard!), Luray Caverns (22 minutes), Skyline Drive (30 minutes), Skyline Caverns (43 minutes), Cooters Luray (23 minutes), an 18 Hole Golf Course at the Caverns Country Club (20 minutes), George Washington National Forest, Shenandoah National Park, Bass Fishing, Trout Fishing, Wildlife Observation, Antiquing, Summer Swimming, Horseback Riding, Sightseeing, Hunting, Canoeing and Tubing.

PERFECT place to unwind and recharge!

This entire area is absolutely beautiful! We arrived just as the leaves started to change colors and the views were breathtaking! Our 2 bedroom Bear Valley cabin was so cute and perfect for the 4 of us! We were right along the Shenandoah River, which was crystal clear, with a huge fire pit stocked with PLENTY of wood and a hot tub! The first day we were there we made sure to get up early enough to see the beautiful sun rise over the mountains! Followed by an incredible tour of the Luray Caverns! A MUST SEE ((but get there early! they get busy fast)). After that it was off to Skyline Driver, another MUST SEE, where we stopped and gazed at the mountains, and even took a quick 30 minute hike to the Hawksbill Summit! The climb was steep but I promise it was worth every single step once you are at the top! AND it's pet friendly!! I took my 2yo dog with us and other than the caverns, he traveled with us everywhere! Day 2 was spent on the canoes the cabin we rented kindly provided ((would recommend making sure your cabins offers them)). We fished, we laughed, took in the gorgeous view nature has to offer and watched fish swim all around us in the clear water!!! Our stay was short, but WE WILL BE BACK! We are already planning a family vacation to this area and honestly I cannot wait to go back!!!

Beautiful Thanksgiving Retreat!

Great location for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving with our furry friends! Comfortable & cozy cabin. Hot tub was awesome -- very warm & clean. Gorgeous water view. Loved having the convenient gas grill on the deck, and much appreciated the gate on the deck as well. (Random, but... HUGE & inclusive movie selection with TVs!) Gravel road for the last bit of access to the cabin, and about 20 minutes away from groceries/downtown Luray. Similarly convenient access to Thornton Gap entry for Shenandoah.

Great "low key" getaway, awesome location!

We had a glorious stay in March. It was cold, but we drove through Shenandoah National Park (glorious), accomplished a marvelous hike, visited the town of Luray and saw Luray Caverns (my husband for the first time). We would definitely recommend this visit for family time that doesn't involve organized activities. It is a quiet, peaceful visit with lots of interesting interactions with nature. Enjoy the Shenandoah Valley Mountains!

Relaxing Pet Friendly River Getaway!

The quaint cabin was just what we wanted and expected. It was clean and pet friendly. The quick access to the river was great, even the dog loved it! The bottom deck was great for sundown sit-outs, enjoying the sounds of nature. There is plenty to do within a 30 minute drive; ziplining, kayaking at Shenandoah River Outfitters, the town of Luray has great coffee shops, restaurants, and a nice walk for viewing the town. We'd definitely recommend this cabin to those looking for a simple vacation.

Perfect 4th of July weekend!

This was our second stay at Bear Valley and it was another great stay for our family. As soon as we arrived, my child exclaimed, "I'm free!" We love this wonderful spot on the river and the cabin has all the necessities and if you forget something (like we did both times), Luray is not too far away to pick up those forgotten items. We enjoy canoeing, hanging out in the hot tub, and eating far too many s'more on the open fire. Lucky to have found this spot and hope we can continue with an annual visit.

Bear Valley Cabin

We truly enjoyed our time at Bear Valley Cabin. It was exactly as pictures shown. Cabin was very clean with instructions through your cabin to help with rental. Hot tub was clean and well treated. Property was beautiful. Enjoyed the provided canoes. Would stay again.

An amazing mountain getaway!

First of all I must say the drive to the cabin was extremely pleasant and easy! This was my first time to Virginia and I was nervous about the mountain roads but everything was perfect! Upon arrival we had alittle trouble with the padlock but quickly figured it out :) The cabin was very cute and cozy inside as well as very clean! The beds were very comfortable and had plenty of blankets and the couches were very comfy as well! The hot tub was very clean and warm and the canoes were so much fun to use! All in all it was an AMAZING vacation and I would love to return!

Cozy peaceful cabin

If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway, then this is definitely the place for you. The cabin sits right on the lake and the yard is spacious. The porch swing was awesome and so was the fire pit. Inside the cabin has everything you need even a good selection of games and movies. The hot tub was awesome! I would definitely stay here again and recommend others.

Peaceful retreat!

The cabin was well equipped and beautifully located. It is on the waters'-edge complete with 2 canoes and a huge fire pit. We sat by the fire every afternoon and evening. The stars were amazing, especially viewing them from the hot tub. A real gem!!!

Peace and Tranquility!

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! Quiet and relaxing. It was awesome to wake up and have coffee outside on the deck with a great river view while watching and listening to the birds. Evenings were spent down at the fire-pit along the river for hotdogs and s'mores of course! Take a dip in the hot tub, you won't regret it! Would like to let you know that there are about 15 to 20 stairs to go up to get to the main house. The stairs did not bother us but may to others.
I would recommend a trip along Skyline Drive. Perfect weather for it and the foliage is quite beautiful, however, I would go on a weekday vice the weekend it's not as crowded. We brought our dogs and they had a blast as well!
We will definitely be back next year!

Great Place

We Stayed at Bear Valley the weekend of May 15th for our Annivesary! It was everything and more. Great location, very quiet and relaxing. the cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Loved the canoes and the porch swing. At night we would relax in the hottub after a day of canoeing on the river! The owners were great at Communicating through email & calling to confirm that our reservation could go on because the ban was lifted!!!! This is a place we will keep coming back to! Thanks for a great 2nd Annivesary

Great vacation

We spent two days here. The property is on the water and exactly as described. We used the fire pit, canoed, fished, and played soccer in the big yard. Communication with the hosts was great!
