SPRING IS COMING!! 🌸🌼 Our mountains have had a rough time of it since Hurricane Helene made her appearance. But spring is a time of rebirth! Local restaurants and shops are starting to reopen, and outdoor activities as well. Please consider supporting these establishments!

Enjoy our clean and cozy home with gorgeous mountain views! Enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, snow or river tubing, gem mining, and apple picking at the orchard (opens May 10), or just stay home and relax on the back deck or by the fire pit! The gravel road to our home does NOT require 4-wheel drive and is maintained year-round. Private but safe and established neighborhood. We are located just 1.3 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway (milepost 324.7).

Nearby activities include Linville Falls (waterfalls and hiking), The Orchard at Altapass (May through last weekend of Oct), Linville Caverns, Linville Falls Winery, Springmaid Mountain (horseback riding, hiking, fishing), Jonas Ridge Snow Tubing, Crabtree Falls, Grassy Creek Golf Club, Wilson Creek Wilderness Area, Linville Gorge, Penland Gallery, Little Switzerland, Bare Sky Observatory, Emerald Village (gem mining), and more! There are several restaurants in Spruce Pine to choose from, including coffee shops/deli, grills, brewery, italian, mexican, pizza, thai/sushi, bbq, seafood, and more. Check out nearby Burnsville for even more shops and restaurants! If you are a hiker, there are numerous hiking opportunities in the area. Ask the host for recommendations, and for a list of currently open hiking trails.

At 3000 ft. elevation, you can enjoy long range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Mount Mitchell, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and The Orchard at Altapass all while relaxing on the large back deck. Listen to the “quiet of nature” with the birds singing, hummingbirds buzzing, deer crunching through the woods, a train whistle in the distance, and the gentle sound of a mountain breeze!

Bear’s Eye View is the perfect place for couples, hiking groups, girls' weekends, and families with older children. Featuring 2 bedrooms (king and queen), 2 full bathrooms, a loft with twin bed, and a futon bed, this 2-story home has everything you need to enjoy your vacation: fully stocked kitchen, comfortable den with reclining couch and chairs, large partially covered back deck with plenty of seating, side yard with fire pit and swing under the deck, rocking chairs and swing on the front porch. Many places for you to sit and relax! Take in the local sites of Spruce Pine, Linville Falls, Little Switzerland, Bakersville, and Burnsville, or use Bear's Eye View as your home base for visiting Asheville, Blowing Rock, Boone, Banner Elk, and Tennessee.

Ride a motorcycle? We are right off the Blue Ridge Parkway and near The Diamondback in Little Switzerland. Popular riding spots with amazing views! Park your bikes under the convenient covered carport attached to the house.
