The Beachcomber bungalow is a tropical island style lodging... off on a dirt road, not on the main hwy, less than a minute walk to the beach. It is ideal for honeymooners, but also perfect for a family.
If your looking for a quiet, private and peaceful place to stay on your vacation, this may be the place for you. The Beachcomber Bungalow is an open and airy comfortable beach house, with wood and tile floors, high open beam ceilings and skylights in almost every room. It is tucked away in Haena, off the main road in a safe and quiet area, just steps from the beach. You will be lulled to sleep at night by the sound of the ocean. The white sandy beach out front has epic snorkeling and swimming (seasonal). You can walk on the beach and pick shells, all the way to the end of the road if you want to. It is less than a mile from Tunnels beach.
It is located just west of Kepuhi Point in Haena on the north shore of Kauai. You are a ten minute drive from the sleepy town of Hanalei, where you will find an abundance of restaurants and stores to fill all your shopping needs. Just three minutes in the other direction leads you along some of the most scenic, snorkeling beaches to the end of the road, the gateway to the spectacular Na Pali Coast and hiking trail.
This beach house can accommodate people that need wheelchair accessIbility. This house in on the ground, not up on stilts. There is a ramp to the front door, and a roll in shower in both the bathrooms. The whole house is not completely wheelchair accessible, the other bedrooms have a few steps up into them. But there is a nice open layout throughout the house on wood or tile floors for easy getting around whether your in a wheelchair or not.
There is a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen-size bed in the other 2 bedrooms. This house has been lovingly cared for and has beautiful hand made Hawaiian hardwood kitchen counters. The kitchen has a open and easy design for cooking meals and has all the amenities to accommodate cooking for a family.
There is a nice dining area off the kitchen where you can eat your meals.

The address is 7183 Alealea Rd. Please note that this house is near the ocean and is considered the tsunami evacuation zone. Information on evacuation procedures is located in the information folder on the kitchen counter in the house. Evacuation procedures are: Go right out the driveway, turn R on OneOne rd. Turn left onto Kuhio Hwy. Stay on this road all the way to Princeville, which is considered high ground.

Quiet Street, Beautiful beach
Steps to beach access, beautiful sunrise and sunset. Host was very communicative and accommodating (especially given the Waipa bridge closure).

Bungalow Paradise
Overall we had a wonderful stay!! I love the wood work details in home. After visiting a lot of the main beaches we found ours and tunnels of course to be the best!! It was too bad that the roads were still be worked on, but we knew this in advance as Acacia kept us very informed. She’s was so easy to get a hold of and if we had an issue she was quick to respond. Even after having a run in with our neighbor she was very apologetic for his behavior which was very unwarranted. He used language I was very offended by. Just sitting at our table at 9:40pm and he cursed and yelled and even after I apologized continued to tell us to get a f-ing hotel. A simple can you keep it down would of been nice. Word of advice, just shut the windows at the dining room to avoid being yelled at. This unfortunately made us not want to speak after that encounter. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone with soft voices. The house was very clean and had everything we could want and more.

Excellent experience
I'm going to get the ONLY negative for this place out of the way first, and it's relatively minor: the neighbor in the adjacent lot to the west of the property can be a little noisy on occasion for usually-brief periods (older fellow doing his own renovation work on a rather dilapidated structure, sometimes TV really loud at night, sometimes shouting into his mobile speakerphone, etc.). Everything else was AMAZING! This place is beautiful inside and out and had everything we needed...lovely big kitchen, washer and dryer, three big bedrooms (we only used one), nice living rooms, lots of ceiling fans, pretty grounds, and an EXCELLENT location if you're planning on spending time at Kalalau/Ke'e, Hanalei, Tunnels, etc. The unit also offers beach chairs, a good beach umbrella, insulated soft beach coolers, etc. The beach closest to the property (Kepuhi) is actually fairly nice (we saw a big Spotted Reef Crab while snorkeling there, but otherwise it doesn't have too much density or diversity of sea life), but we walked the 20-30 mins along the shore to Tunnels most of the time because the snorkeling there is truly excellent (turtles, octopus, tons of fish, lots of reef to explore, and an occasional beach visit by a monk seal). And Acacia (the manager we interacted with via text/email) was extremely responsive and polite! We asked questions several times and always got a quick, helpful, and delightful reply. Would definitely stay here again, without hesitation!

Beautiful house and location
Ready for guests, 3 bedrooms in opposite corners of the house with central kitchen and rooms. Beautiful beach 150 steps away, tunnels a short walk down the coast. A happy place to stay at, a sad place to leave. Immediate area is a residential neighborhood, Hanalei and Princeville close by to support tourists. No crowds at the local beach, extremely beautiful. Can't imagine a better beach on the island,. Acacia was always helpful when needed prior to our stay. Thanks and Enjoy!

North Shore Secret
Our family of 5 completely enjoyed our stay on the Garden Island. We were able to find plenty of beaches for relaxation, hiked the Kalalau Trail to the falls, and found Hanalei to be the perfect little town for food and shopping. We even threw in a Na Pali boat excursion and Kauai Plantation tubing. The property as perfect with all the amenities as advertised. We especially loved the short walk to the beach and enjoyed the sunrise and coffee each morning. We even came to love the roosters call every morning to get us going! Best part was the house was away from the bustle of any town and the area was gorgeous. We can all recommend this property and will hopefully return to this little, out-of-the way paradise. Mahalo! Beachcomber Bungalow Best Yet!
My family and I have stayed in nearly all the homes offered by Awesome Adventures over the past few years. Acacia is a gem and we have always been treated very well by her and her team! We love Haena neighborhood and think of it as our home away from home when we adventure to Kauai in the Spring. We enjoyed this little house on Kepuhi Point as it offered bedroom privacy for each of us as well as a wonderful open space to cook meals together and relax while reading or movie watching in the evenings. We love to swim/snorkle so the beach nearby is perfect as is Tunnels a short drive away. Two things we loved about the house: the shower's sliding window to the deck which made it super easy to pass our suits and rash guards through to hang up on the drying rack. The other unique feature was the birds in the yard. We weren't woken up every morning by the rooster's call, but rather by birdsong. That was delightful. Each of us loved our beds too ~ very comfortable! We can't wait to return!

Ideal location and house for quiet and peace
The house was beyond perfect. The rooms are large and comfortable, there is plenty of privacy yet feels very cozy at the same time. It also has a fabulous washer and dryer which is necessary when traveling with children! The kitchen is well stocked, the beach is perfect for children and folks looking to snorkel without crowds. The entire week we were there we saw at most six other people on the point. The place is so quiet and the rooster crows only about three times in the morning, after the sunrise. If you are looking for a quiet place, close to Hanalei and the Na Pali trails but away from the crowds, this is ideal. I would recommend this house to couples, or families with children. Even teenagers, as the wifi works throughout the house.

Close to where the mountains meet the sea!
Thank you for renting your beautiful home to us. We love where it was located and where were impressed on how clean it was. The bedrooms were beautifully situated to allow optimum privacy to each of the three couples. The home was extremely well stocked so cooking the fresh fish was a breeze. We will recommend your property to all our friends! Mahalo!

Great stay close to the beach
We loved this place. The house was spacious and open-air. We loved the back patio, and had several meals outside. Its just a 2 min walk to the beach, and a 15 min drive to the town of Hanalei where there's a grocery store and good restaurants. We walked around the beach closest to the house and loved exploring. Its also a short drive to the trailhead for the Napali Coast, which we really enjoyed. This is a great option, and we hope to come back one day!

Beautiful, private house in a perfect quiet neighborhood
Every morning, we had the opportunity to see the beautiful sunrise over the ocean. The kitchen and living areas are open and spacious. The property is quiet, and located next to private neighborhood beach with very little beach goer activity. Thank you for making our stay in Kauai so special and comfortable. All the amenities were available. The house was very welcoming and comfortable. Mahalo (thank you) and Aloha!
