Two-room suite with private bath located in Jonas Ridge. Breathtaking long range MOUNTAIN VIEWS. Main bedroom is spacious and has a king log bed. The sitting room has a log futon (only good for guests up to 5'9" tall), small fridge, microwave and TV with satellite. There is no cooking allowed. With both an indoor and outdoor sitting area and a separate entrance, this is a very spacious suite.
This log cabin small B&B has a front porch, a covered side deck and a fire pit overlooking Linville Gorge. Views of Mt Mitchell, Linville Gorge and Hickory (NC) from the property. Bring a jacket and at least one pair of long pants even in the summer, as it can be cool in the mountains any evening. Bring layers in the winter.
Wake up to the aromas of a delicious more than full breakfast prepared by a professional chef, which includes:
- juice
- fresh local farm eggs (whenever possible)
- bacon, ham, beef or sausage
- roesti potatoes, potato pancakes, grits or grits casserole
- a dessert such as banana/pumpkin/other pancakes, French toast with berries (served with real maple syrup), apple dumplings with orange sauce or other sweet ending.
- toast or home baked biscuits with real butter & jam
- fresh coffee, hot tea or hot chocolate
You can watch SUNRISE and SUNSET from the property. It is truly an amazing site, colorful and spectacular, weather permitting! Hiking trails all around the property, as we directly border the Pisgah National Forest. Watch the different birds feeding in the summer. STARLINK Wi-Fi and Satellite TV provided. Plan on enjoying mother nature and your companions.
There is a lot to do in the area including hiking, horseback trail riding, zip lining, white water rafting, canoeing, gem mining, fishing, golf (regular & disc), fairs, festivals, plenty of live music, snow skiing, tubing, snow boarding, numerous wineries and breweries, scenic drives and more. Restaurants in the area range from country food to gourmet. 5 Restaurants within 6-7 miles. More a little further out.

Guests have exclusive use of their suite which includes a private bath, and a sitting room with a small fridge, microwave, TV and share access to the outdoors, fire pit area and dining room for breakfast. Our Health Department does not allow any cooking in the main kitchen or any guests to use (put anything in) the main refrigerator. No ice is provided and the kitchen is closed off. Park outside where available but please DON'T BLOCK the garage doors!
We see guests when they arrive, at breakfast, and then occasionally. If they need anything, they can always contact us.
We are in the mountains, directly bordering the Pisgah National Forest. It is very peaceful and quiet. At night you can see many stars. As a matter of fact, it is a great area for stargazing and night photography. It is rated 8 out of 10 for night photography enthusiasts. During the day you can hear birds chirping.
You will wake up to birds chirping in the summer. Great place to relax and enjoy nature. Things to do in the spring/summer/fall include walking, hiking, canoeing, horseback trail riding, ziplining, whitewater rafting, gem mining, fishing, scenic drives, numerous festivals, and more. In the winter we have snow skiing, tubing, ice skating, sledding, ziplining, scenic drives, local events/festivals, wineries, breweries and more.
Come breathe fresh mountain air and recharge your batteries! We are close to Table Rock, Hawksbill, Upper Creek Falls, Linville Gorge, Grandfather Mountain, Jonas Ridge Tubing, Sugar Mountain Ski area, Beech Mountain Ski Area, and Hawksnest Tubing & Ziplining. A nature lover's paradise! Also close to the towns of Linville, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, Boone, Blowing Rock, Spruce Pine, Beech Mountain, Morganton and Marion.
There are 5-6 restaurants close by (about 5 miles). A Mexican restaurant with beer, wine and drinks, and an Italian restaurant are both in Pineola. Louise's Rock House is in Linville Falls & The TinTrout is in Crossnore (both close at 8pm and not open every day). There are other restaurants a little further out. Everything from fast food, to country, to gourmet. There is no cooking of any type allowed at the B&B. You may use your microwave to warm things up and prepare a snack, hot chocolate or tea.
You definitely need a car to get around and enjoy this lovely area.

As a courtesy to other guests, we no longer take younger children. Well behaved teenagers 14 yrs and older are welcome. There is no cooking of any type allowed.
NOTE: Due to COVID19, we are taking extra care to clean and sanitize all areas commonly touched by guests frequently and in between rentals. Policies and Rules
Not suitable for younger children, so as a courtesy to other guest we only take children 14 and older. Remember this is a log/wood house, so make sure your teenagers don't run around inside.
There is no cooking of any kind. The kitchen and main fridge are off limit to guests (per health inspector). You are renting a spacious suite in a small B&B, not a cabin. Your suite has a small fridge and a microwave.
No smoking anywhere inside the B&B.
We check ID when you check in, so make sure to have a driver's license or other picture ID with you.
