Welcome to Avenca, the Scandi-inspired tiny house where city meets the beach. This former workman's cottage has been fully renovated with all the comforts and has a the perfect location for a great Lisbon getaway: 3 minutes walk to the shops, 5 minutes walk to the beach, 5 walk to the train station (10 minutes to Cascais, 20 minutes to Lisbon).

Avenca has been completely overhauled since September 2023 and will be launched early May 2024. Photos forthcoming

Cute apartment within a short walk of nice cafes, train and the ocean in a friendly neighborhood. The apartment was tucked away from the road so it was pretty quiet. Joana was an amazing, friendly host, proactively providing lots of good details and responding to all of our questions quickly!

We absolutely loved the place. The location was great. Close to shops, a bakery, cafes. 5 min walk to the train station. Easy to get to Lisbon & Cascais. There are also a couple of nice beaches nearby: Praia das Avencas & Praia de Carcavelos. The house itself is everything you need. Well equipped, functional and just nice to be in. The bed is super comfortable, you almost don’t want to get up. The sofa in the living room is cosy and perfect to relax on after a long day full of walking. We had issues with the door lock operating app. Getting it to work a day before going away was problematic and took a long time to get it connected. We also had some initial issues with door locking/unlocking and app was quite unresponsive at most times. Resetting Bluetooth helped. Joana assisted me all the way trying to help to resolve. We had a great communication through the whole time. She also recommended a few nice places and gave some tips. She is a wonderful host. I strongly recommend this place

Nicely furnished AirBnB in a great location not far from both Cascais and Lisbon. It acted as a great base for us to explore both places. Really well stocked with everything we needed for our stay and Joana was always quick to reply, helpful with all queries and very friendly. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend :)

Nieuw, mooi en fijn ingericht huisje, schoon en van alles voorzien, op loopafstand van strand, eettentjes en winkels in leuk rustig en eenvoudig kustdorpje. Joana is ontzettend communicatief, vriendelijk en behulpzaam en reageert steeds heel snel en prettig. Beneden slaapkamer voor 2 personen, op de open zolder boven woonkamer nog 3-4 bedden. Airco heeft daar onder het dak iets minder effect doordat dan ook hele woonkamer gekoeld moet maar gelukkig is er wel airco en boven een extra ventilator. Verder alleen maar fijn, schoon en volledig huisje met klein eigen terrasje. Als je met 6 bent zijn er net wat weinig zitplaatsen in de woonkamer, als je allemaal ‘lui’ wilt zitten, maar verder alles genoeg en wij waren toch vooral op stap of gezellig samen aan tafel. Dank voor alles en we komen graag terug

Hello, my name is Joana. Am a global citizen - a Portuguese national born in the Netherlands, have lived/studied/worked in more than 10 different countries across three continents. Currently am based in Denmark.
I love Portugal and like simple but beautiful things, clean and organized. Over time have been building my favorite city, beach and country side (soon) escapes in Portugal, places to pile our family/friends bags/suitcases. Thus the name Malas a Montes (it means pile of bags) for my small portfolio of Portuguese properties - @malasamontes. When am away I like to share them with you. Getting around

The house is 500 meters away from the train station (Parede) where you can get the trains to Cascais (approx 15 minutes westbound) or Lisbon (approx 25 minutes eastbound). There is also a bus stop a few hundred meters away (for different locations in Cascais, Carcavelos, CascaisShopping, etc). Renting a bike is a good option to explore the beaches nearby.
Having a car will allow you to explore further afield.
Depending on the time of the day, LIS airport is 25 and 60 minutes away by car and at least 1h 30 minutes away by public transportation (train and metro).
