The American Room is located on the first floor has a lot to offer for the dollar value. It has two twin beds with comfort and space. Decorated with American décor, nice hardwood floors, and and a nice back yard view.
Bathroom is shared when we have guests.
Half price for each additional guest.
Not suitable for children under the age of 12.
1 free parking space included.
Additional fee for laundry ($10 per load - includes washer, dryer, laundry detergent, etc.).
Smoking is allowed outside only.
Full kitchen included except stove and oven.

Eva and her son Chris were excellent hosts. Their house is lovely and was toasty warm. They were super responsive, and you can tell that they really enjoy what they do. I had gotten the flu and it was so comforting to be in their lovely home.

Eva was an amazing host, Eva and her two sons. I told her that I was going to take the train everyday, and they helped me relocate closer to the train station. Eva was at the house most days to say hello and to check in on things. Chris and Mathew always helped and were friendly. I felt right at home here. I’m so glad I chose to stay at Eva’s AirBnB. Best decision I could have made!

I have never written a negative review on Airbnb but I want to prevent folks from making similar assumptions about this stay. I am a Ph.D. student and had a summer internship lined up in Elmsford, was supposed to stay here for at least two months. As a female that would stay there alone, I thought a family home would be just fine. My boyfriend came with me to check it out and help me get settled. I only stayed two nights. Issues I had: 1. This is NOT a family home. This is a communal living-style arrangement in which multiple bedrooms in the house are rented out to other people at the same time (at least two others while I was there). The shared bathroom had mold and was missing tiles in the shower. 2. The bedroom I stayed in looked nothing like the posted photos in the listing. Contrary to the statement that you will get a door key on the listing, the door to my room did not lock from the outside -- there was a flimsy slide-lock (like the ones you find in public toilet stalls) that locked only from the inside. The host also did not lock the front door, so I had to hide my electronics and hope they wouldn't be stolen when I had to leave. 3. It is extremely close to two freeways (less than 300ft), where cars and semi-trucks are driving by 24 hours per day. I slept with ear plugs and still got in only 2 hours of sleep each night. 4. There was mold on the window coverings. 5. There were eight window panes. 5/8 were broken or blocked so they did not open. 1/8 opened and did not close. Only the remaining 2/8 opened and closed. 6. There were two holes in one wall. 7. There is no sidewalk along the road outside the house. I did not have a car, and drivers flew by much faster than the 30mph posted speed limit, so I did not feel safe walking to the bus stop. 8. There was a belt left in the room when we arrived and the sheets looked unclean. 9. There is no heating/cooling in the room. 10. It is said on the listing that laundry is included, but the house rules when you arrive are that each load of laundry will cost you $10. Eva and her son were courteous and welcoming when we arrived. After all of this, though, on top of the fact that I was paying about $2,100/mo for it, I left as quickly as I arrived and almost lost my internship over it.

Eva is a very kind and caring host. I felt very comfortable in her house and she was helpful with everything. Sometimes she even made me a coffee in the morning or asked if I’d need anything else. The location is very convenient because it’s not so far from the train station. All in all I had a great stay at Eva‘s house.

My name is Eva.

I am originally from Perú and have been hosting guests since 2011.

I work with my sons (Co-Hosts), Christopher and Matthew, to provide the finest hospitality for all guests.

We currently have three locations available with only a 1/2 an hour train ride to NYC.

OTHER HOUSE RULES:

➢ Please remove your shoes upon entry and while you are in the house

➢ Please do not walk in a towel or undergarment around the house

➢ All grooming, make-up, manicures, etc. need to be done in your room or the bathroom only

➢ Please remove personal body hair from the bathtub or shower after each use

➢ The bathtub, shower, sink, etc. need to be kept clean after each use

➢ Only toilet paper can be flushed down the toilet. Anything else will clog and damage the plumbing

➢ Lights, heat, and air conditioners need to be turned off when not in use

➢ Windows need to be kept closed when air conditioners or heat are in use

➢ Food and drinks are not allowed in the bedrooms. Please, eat and drink in the kitchen or dining area only

➢ Full kitchen is included, except stove and oven

➢ Light cooking only is permitted (Please no heavy cooking)

➢ Please do not leave dishes in the sink. Wash, dry, and put them away immediately

➢ Do not bring strangers into the house. If you want to invite a friend, please check with us first
