Your retreat is on a quiet country road only 5 minutes from Linville Falls, 30 minutes from Banner Elk, 45 minutes from Boone & 60 minutes from Asheville. Your stay includes a fully furnished, private 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home plus bunk room & use of our fire pit and relaxing deck.

"The Mountain House", the name given to our property by our children, is an excellent place to go to escape and unwind! Relax by the fire-pit, visit the local wineries or take a long hike on several trails nearby.
The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, utensils and most everything you will need to cook a meal. All you need to do is supply the groceries. There are 2 grocery stores within 20 minutes.

Don't feel like cooking? Head into town for several dining options from the local drive in, to a tasty Mexican restaurant.

The lower level of the house includes an entertainment room, laundry room and area with two twin beds. On the main level you will find the dining area, kitchen, living room and full bath. The top level houses one bedroom with a king bed and half bath, two bedrooms with queens, and a full bathroom.

Watch the sun set over the mountains from the front porch. The Mountain House is the perfect choice for your escape from the big city hustle and bustle. Sit by the outdoor fire pit and listen to the crackle of the fire while enjoying an evening under the stars! Too cold outside? Snuggle up with a loved one in your bedroom and watch the dance of the flames from the electric fireplace.

We had a wonderful weekend at 3 Mile Mountain House. Brittany was an exceptional host, and the house was both spotless and exceptionally cozy. It provided a lovely mountain retreat, and we even had the pleasure of enjoying the fire pit one evening. Brittany made us feel welcome and right at home. She provided prompt responses to all our inquiries. The house had all the amenities one would need for a perfect home away from home experience. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

Brittany ensures everything you would possibly need and more is made available. She cares that her guests enjoy their stay and is available to give recommendations for food and things to do. This is a lot of house for the money and while it’s an older split level, there has been some remodeling and it’s super clean and excellent condition. Scenic view of the mountains from front windows, deck and yard. Nice having two dens and playroom in garage. Centrally located to Linville, Newland, Linville Falls and Spruce Pines areas. Would highly recommend! The exit/entry from street to driveway is steep and maybe could use some asphalt repair to smooth it out. Might bring a 2nd baby gate with you if needed as there are two flights of stairs. Thanks Brittany for a great vacation!

6 STARS! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟This place is SO nice & relaxing and amazing for younger kids! I can’t tell you how much thought was placed into this property for guests- from the fresh fluffy towels to the welcome basket with s’mores supplies in it, you really felt like you were at home. Everything was so perfect for our family! The beds were all comfortable, it was super clean, and the kitchen was very well equipped for cooking. Our toddler loved the toys that were in the garage & he didn’t want to leave. Communication was super on point & the owners are just simply kind people. Not a single complaint. Although it doesn’t bother us, if you’re looking for an absolutely quiet property, this isn’t it because of cars going by. It is important to note that this is on a pretty busy back road and when you’re outside you can hear everything going by. If you’re on property. Location was 5 minutes from winery! I would DEFINITELY recommend bringing your own groceries—-very limited places to eat and the ones that are available are at very small capacities for guests. All in all, perfect stay and we would come here again. Linville falls was super close by and a great hike. Definitely try this place— you won’t regret it! For a newer listing on AIRBNB, these guys were already on “expert mode” and it showed. :-)

We loved our stay at Brittany’s property. It was exactly as pictured. We loved the fire pit in the back yard. It was quiet and relaxing. She was very responsive throughout our whole stay. We were very pleased with everything.

Notify us of your time of arrival and departure. A pass code will provide at least 1 day prior to arrival.

Acknowledge you must climb stairs - There are 5 stairs to climb in the front entrance of the house and 3 stairs in the back of the house, we encourage you and children to use the handrails.

There are two security cameras located at the garage pointing to the driveway and at the side garage door under our deck. You will see it above the garage door and a ring doorbell camera at the front door entrance.
