Welcome! We are so excited to share our "home away from home" with you and your family. This is a fantastic log home with a hot tub nestled on 10+ wooded acres with 2 fishing ponds. If you're looking for a great place to relax, refresh, and reconnect - this is the place you're looking for! As you arrive, you're welcomed by a partial wrap-around deck with panoramic views of the two fishing ponds just a stone's throw away. The ponds are managed fishing ponds, providing hours of fun for kids, amateur anglers, and experienced fisherfolk alike. We practice catch-and-release fishing only to ensure a healthy fish population for years to come. We hope you take time to sit on the deck and watch the sunrise/sunset, the deer and turkey that we share the land with, and maybe even see some of the bass, bluegill, and crappie jumping in the ponds.

Inside the house, you're welcomed by a spacious living room with a vaulted ceiling. Large windows provide a grand view of the ponds and the surrounding woods. Summer or winter, this is truly an amazing view. You'll also find a wood-burning fireplace, along with plenty of starter logs and wood logs to create a romantic atmosphere or family time around the fireplace.

Around the corner from the living room is the dining room. Here you'll find a large, hand-carved living edge wood table with 5 chairs and a bench seat for 3 to easily accommodate your family and friends. This table is a true work of art! We love to cook, so there's a fully stocked kitchen with just about every pot, pan, utensil, dish, and food storage solution you could possibly need! We have Keurig and carafe coffee makers. The kitchen has a wall-mounted oven and microwave. The electric range top sits on a center island with a bar and stools on the other side. This is great for setting up a buffet meal or continuing conversations as you're preparing food. Around the corner from the kitchen and dining room is the mud room. Here you'll find a half bath and a full-sized washer and dryer. The door to the garage locks from both sides. The garage is off-limits to guests and should not be entered under any circumstances.

At the other end of the house is the owner's suite. Here you'll find a luxurious king-size, double rail, spindle bed where you're going to want to spend your entire vacation! We've made the beds with high thread count sheets, super comfortable quilts/comforters, and pillows that cradle your head like a baby! The master bath contains a shower, toilet, and sink, as well as a very spacious walk-in closet.

Upstairs you'll find a very large loft space designed with the kids in mind. There's a queen bed, oversized beanbag chair, TV, DVR/BluRay, video library, coloring books/crayons, as well as puzzles and games. Moving down the hall you'll find two more large bedrooms each with very comfortable queen beds and a full bathroom (with bathtub) in between them. The dormer window in the Bullfrog room provides a great space to sit quietly and enjoy the view of the ponds.

You'll find the Buckeye Cave in the basement offering a Large Bar area for entertaining. There's a cozy wood-burning stove, huge TV, cable, and BluRay/DVD. There's a beautiful glass door that overlooks the stocked, spring-fed, ponds. Stepping through these doors brings you to the patio where you'll find the hot tub built for 6. There are hooks for hammock chairs (supplied) and we have sun loungers and camp chairs as well. Keeping things convenient, there's also a full bathroom with a shower here in the basement!

As I said, this is our home away from home. We have incorporated little touches all throughout the house. We hope you enjoy finding them and appreciate how they turn this log house into a home. In addition to all of the wonderful attributes of this home, the surrounding property is equally exciting! Did we mention the fishing? There's fishing equipment in the basement and we hope that you'll use it! There's a memories book, please feel free to write about your fishing experience. Leave or send us a picture of your catch and we'll add it to our wall of fame!

This wonderful home sits on 10 acres of wooded land. You'll love the sound of the frogs around the ponds in the evening. We've blazed a few trails to make for peaceful nature walks any time of year. Feel free to turn over logs and stones in the woods and see what interesting critters you can find! Next to the fishing gear there are 3 small nets along with a small bucket. Please gently return all creatures to their homes when you're done observing them.

While this is a rural cabin, we do have neighbors and maintain a great relationship with them. We ask that guests respect a few common rules of being neighborly:

No parties or events are allowed at any time under any circumstances.

No fireworks of any kind.

No gunfire/explosions.

No hunting of any kind is allowed on the property. We value our wildlife and keep the holler a hunting-free zone for them.

Do not enter anyone else's property. There's a binder in the sunroom with a map that shows where the property boundaries are.

There are no activities except catch and release fishing allowed in or on the ponds. No boating, swimming, wading, playing, etc. in the water.

Violation of the rules is grounds for cancellation of the remainder of the booking. No refunds will be given for any used or unused portion of the canceled booking.

Security deposit ONLY required for stays including New Year's, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day holidays. Deposit released no more than 7 days after check out. Please allow a couple of additional days for the banks to process the return. Those days are out of my control.
