The Georgia Sea Turtle Center will treat all wild animals on the island. Jekyll Sandpiper renters can often see this turtle on a visit to the GSTC, even though it is not a sea turtle.
The Diamondback Terrapin lives in the brackish water filled marshes surrounding Jekyll Island. During mating season they are often found injured on Jekyll's causeway. Jekyll Sandpiper renters who see a terrapin on the road are encouraged to move the turtle to the side of road.
