Hilton Head Island is a fisherman’s paradise!
SOUTH CAROLINA FISHING REGULATIONS:
South Carolina requires everyone over the age of 16 to purchase a fishing license, in both freshwater and saltwater. Exceptions: You don’t need a license if you are on private property, such as Hilton Head’s resorts. You can purchase a fishing license at Wal-Mart and other locations. You can also purchase a license online from the South Carolina Department of Resources by clicking here.
It is illegal to actively fish for sharks or stingrays on Hilton Head Island. If you catch one accidentally, cast them back into the ocean as quickly as you can. There are a few other species that have regulations pertaining to fishing for them. Check these regulations to be sure you are in compliance.
