For a change of pace from the beach and pool, bring your family and friends to Coastal Discovery Museum, or explore it on your own!

On the 68 acre property, you'll explore natural history, wildlife, and cultural heritage of the S.C. Lowcountry islands. The Museum’s trails, gardens, live oaks, butterfly enclosure, horses, and fiddler crabs at the marsh area are just a few of the fun interactive experiences you will encounter during your visit.  There is also an indoor gift shop, art museum, and history museum.

Definitely a great place to take kids but also a great place for adults! The property takes about 1-3 hours to explore.

Fridays at 2pm, there is a Marsh Tacky Horse Tour, a family-friendly experience suitable for all ages.  This is a great opportunity to meet the museum's two resident horses Comet and Hawk and learn about their care and conservation.
