We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was clean and as described. The only thing that made us uncomfortable was the cameras in the backyard, which I understand the need for, but the host made it apparent she was consistently watching the cameras so don't expect privacy in the backyard. Otherwise the bed and downstairs area were very clean and comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet.

Stayed there for a few days for our fishing outing on the James River. We have a 20-foot catfishing boat. The home is at the end of a cul-de-sac, so getting the boat in and out of the driveway was a breeze. We were able to run a drop cord for charging the boat, which is a must. Clean place 👌. Will be staying again this spring.

I have used AirBnb for 5+ years and this was the first location where we left early due to several serious issues in the home. 1) Upon arrival, there were fresh blood stains on the bed sheets which yes, is gross but she had the cleaner come out and change so not a deal breaker. 2) The floors and carpets are dirty. The bottom of our feet were black and we ended up wearing socks which in return would be black. 3) The humidity was the worst — we brought our humidity temp reader and it shot up to 75% which is way above healthy humidity room levels. It was so muggy and wet in all of the rooms that after one night stay we had to cancel the rest of our reservation and find a different air bnb. Above all, the host was inconsiderate and defensive when we respectfully shared our concerns. Check the reviews and her responses back to guests who share honest feedback before booking. I failed to see them prior to booking.

Response:As an Airbnb superhost, we always want our guests to have a relaxing stay. We are sorry that you did not have that experience and I would like to apologize for your unacceptable stay. Our Airbnb supercleaner, as defined by Turnoverbnb, is wonderful and usually does a great job for us. She informed me that if the soap is not rinsed from the floors, it may be tacky and collect dust. I think this is what you may have experienced. In the future we will insure the floors are properly rinsed. I wish I had the opportunity to address the humidity by calling my HVAC guy, but you checked out without notifying me of the problem. I apologize that you were uncomfortable in my home. As a senior citizen this is big part of my income, and I would never knowingly jeopardize the health and safety of my guests. If you are ever in the area again, I would gladly offer you a 2 night complimentary stay.
