Other than enjoying the fantastic beaches, one of the many things to do on Skiathos island is to go to the Skiathos Dog Shelter - - and take a dog for a walk.
The dogs are grateful to get out and you can take in the beautiful and luscious landscape of this pine covered island.
Furthermore, if you fall in love, which may very well happen, they have an adoption programme, in case you have the desire to give one of these lovely pets a forever-home. They arrange for all the paper-work and vaccinations necessary for the adoption process.
Pictures say more than a thousand words, so watch their video on YouTube.

Our Story
Many people ask us how they can help.....
If you are coming on holiday to Skiathos you can come and visit us and take one of our dogs for a walk. We open for walking Monday to Saturday from 9am till 1pm, we also open on Sundays but have an organized tour group visit us that day for dog walking and close the walking for them from 10.30 till 12.30.
You can also come along to our quiz nights which are held every Wednesday throughout the summer at the Iguana Bar in Paraskevi (bus stop 16), the quiz starts at 9.30, best to arrive early to get a good seat.
Or you can make a donation. We are always in need of certain items..... Drontal plus wormers (most of our dogs arrive at the shelter infested with worms so we need to use a strong wormer like this) Scalibor collars, puppy/small and medium collars, dog toys (not soft toys as they tend to get wet and ruined quickly), fleecy blankets, dog treats and Advantix.
