Just 15 minutes from Gold Creek Cabin lies our favorite neighborhood dining spot. "The Union" is located in the picturesque village of Volcano, and is housed in a building which was built in 1880 and which previously served as a boarding house and saloon for miners. The restaurant and pub are located on the building's main floor, while there are four bed and breakfast rooms located upstairs.
The restaurant serves deliciously modern comfort food in a casual, family-friendly setting. Think bright salads, hearty sandwiches and upscale yet accessible mains. Check out their daily specials featuring local, seasonal ingredients; 3-course prix fixe dinners; and don't forget Sunday Brunch! Perhaps it comes as no surprise that The Union belongs to the same hospitality group as the award-winning Taste Restaurant in nearby Plymouth. Can't get a table? No problem - order off the Union-A-Go-Go takeout menu and you can enjoy your meal back at the Cabin while it is still hot!
The pub area faces the street, and it is so easy to imagine you are in a Gold Rush-era saloon when standing at the wooden bar, backed by a huge mirror. On summer evenings, you'll find the storefront doors wide open to let the breezes in. The pub offers a great selection of wine, beer and cocktails to complement your meal or to sip and savor on their own.
The Union is a great spot for visitors and locals alike. Come try it for yourself!
