Amador county is enjoying a renaissance coming out of the pandemic. Although many of our beloved hangouts and eateries closed permanently during the 2020-2022 timeframe, still others managed to open and find their groove during challenging times.

That One Spot is a sandwich shop on Hwy 88 in Pioneer (upcountry Amador county). It opened at the tail end of summer 2022 and quickly became a local favorite. You'll understand why after your first visit.

The shop is bright and cozy, and you can be sure of a warm welcome as soon as you step in. The menu offers hot and cold sandwich specials (including a build-your-own option), soup, salad, and a kids menu. We think what sets this place apart is that they make their own sandwich meats and spreads - it really makes a difference! Chips and drinks are on display to grab and add to your meal.

On our recent visit, each of us ordered a different sandwich. Did we get to try each other's lunch? Nope! Once the sandos were in front of us, sharing was the last thing on our minds, they were that good. It's going to be very difficult to get through the menu as we will probably keep ordering the same delicious thing, but we will try our best!

That One Spot has a couple of picnic tables inside along with a counter lined with bar stools. Whether you dine in or take your order to go, you can be sure you've got some of best that Amador can offer.
