Cornhole is a classic bean bag toss game for all ages. You can find our cornhole set in the outdoor activity shed on the eastern side of the cabin. If you need, here is some official play guidance from the American Cornhole Association:
- For regulation play, set up the boards approximately 27 feet apart, with the back ends raised
- Bags are pitched underhand from anywhere behind the front of the board
- Players alternate pitching their bags (4 each) until all 8 have been tossed
Scoring
The approved method of scoring for the sport of cornhole is “cancellation” scoring. In cancellation scoring, the points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent.
- Bag In-The-Count (Woody): Any bag which comes to rest anywhere on top of the board. Each is worth one (1) point.
- Bag In-The-Hole (Cornhole): Any bag which is thrown through the hole or knocked through the hole by another bag. Each is worth three (3) points.
- Foul Bags – Refers to any bag that has not been determined as Bag In-The-Count or Bag In-The Hole or was designated a foul bag as the result of rules violation.
Traditionally, games are played to 21 points.
Of course, you are here to get away from it all, not to worry about rules. Feel free to set up the boards at the best distance for the players involved. Don't abide by cancellation scoring if you are looking for a shorter game. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy!
