Living in Nassau, The Bahamas for 40 years has given us the chance to see the real beauty of The Bahamas, which is the family islands. They are smaller, friendly, each is unique in its own right. The Exuma's are second to none in our book. After traveling around to most of the Family Islands, we kept coming back to Exuma. We knew it was where we wanted to Hidden color of the water changes from turquoise, to sapphire, and to indigo all at the same time. The sand bars where you can walk out forever up to your ankles at low tide, collecting sand dollars, are truly enchanting, and the sea life ( turtles, lobster, conch, and tropical fish) is just beautiful. No wonder the astronaut Scott Kelly said, when looking down on Exuma, that it was "the most beautiful place from space", and "The Bahamas never fails to impress", because it is indeed truly spectacular!

“Turtle View is amazing!”
This was our family’s second time staying at Turtle View with the first time being in 2017. When we left the first time, we knew we would be back. Once you experience the blue waters of Exuma you can’t help but go visit again. Turtle View is amazing, it’s equipped with everything you need and more. The location of the home is right in the middle of the island, close to restaurants, etc. The backyard is paradise as you walk right out the back door into the beautiful blue windex colored water. We snorkeled the entire island only to come home mid vacation to discover the best reef is in your own backyard. The sunrise is beautiful and the beach is perfect to take a morning walk. Unfortunately, we discovered how amazing star gazing was at the end of our vacation. We saw millions of stars, tons of shooting stars, the Milky Way and many satellites. What a delight. The owners are accommodating and really strive to make sure you have everything you need and that your vacation is perfect. This is truly one of our top vacation houses and we might just come back to visit over and over again. It has become our home away from home.

“WOW”

We spent a glorious Christmas 2021 week at the Turtle View with our family of 6 (including 4 older teenagers/young 20s). The home exceeded all our expectations, the pictures and video (which convey that the house is awesome) actually do not portray just how glorious it really is. The kids walked into the house and jaws dropped, the first thing they said was ‘WOW’. And that first time you walk out the patio back door and into the sand (which is literally all the way up to the steps, with the water merely 75 feet or so away) is just amazing. The day we showed up, there was nary a breeze, the water was almost glass, and the Caribbean blue colors and clarity of the water was perfect.

Off the beach, maybe 100 or 150 feet, is a small reef to snorkel at, we found that the second day, saw a sea turtle, blow fish, and tons of other types of fish. The kids LOVED the kayaks, the paddle board, the place was loaded with beach toys that were not only plentiful but they were in really good shape. The snorkels, the fins, etc, all was clean and functioning, not to mention they had sizes that fit everyone one in our family.

The kitchen lacks nothing. The appliances, utilities, pots, pans, they were fully stocked and the everything was in great shape. The nonstick pans had nonstick pan coatings still on them (in contrast to other places we’ve rented where the kitchen stuff was just trashed).

The bedrooms and bathrooms were awesome, clean, high-end, good hot water (always a big ‘if’ when renting!). Tons of linens, towels, we used the laundry almost daily and that was huge bonus to be able to wash clothes so we didn’t need to pack excessively.

The location is wonderful, only 15 minutes from airport (we rented a van right there, it was pretty easy), and there is really only one main road from tip to tip of the island, so getting around is very easy. The villa owners provided plenty of information on where to go (eg, we rented a power boat for the day and explored the harbor, that is a MUST DO!), where to shop for food, beer/wine, etc. Lot’s of restaurants, we suggest getting reservations ahead of time if possible. We ate in the villa several evenings after coming home from some fantastic beach bars (we highly recommend Santana’s, probably the coolest bar on the island, at least that we found). Worth the drive.

All in all, the Turtle View is everything it promises to be, and we highly recommend the home!

“Dream vacation - book now!”
This was a birthday vacation for my husband and was the most beautiful place on earth we have ever vacationed. With two other couples, we relaxed, we celebrated, we walked on the amazing beach that was like our private one, we followed Dee's recommendations which were perfect!, and mostly we just stayed at the house and enjoyed the paradise. The house has everything you could want so why go anywhere else? We did groceries and liquor one day and went out for lunch that day, and the following day, we did Dee's itinerary, and the rest of the time, we just stayed at the house. Wonderful, don't hesitate. Dee is an amazing hostess and will make your trip so easy. You cannot beat the house and the sunrises, and the ocean. We will definitely be back!

“Absolutely fantastic!!!”
We just returned from eight days at Turtle View and it was a wonderful experience as always! We have traveled to many of the islands and stayed at several houses scattered throughout the Caribbean... Turtle View is far and away our favorite. This is our third trip to Turtle View and we look forward to many more in the future. The house and furnishings are immaculate, the kitchen is well appointed, and the beach toys are terrific! We have small children so we love the fact that the beach is only a few steps from the house making it easy to keep up with them. We can't say enough great things about the property owner. Dawn has been an absolute delight to work with and we have enjoyed getting to know her a little better each time we travel to Exuma. Thank you Dawn, for sharing your wonderful home with us!!!

Staying at Turtle View was one of the best, most relaxing beach vacations our family has had in a long time! My husband and I, our 3 year old and my sister and best friend spent a week here and there was something for everyone. Dee was an amazing, generous and super accommodating hostess - there were beach toys for toddlers, kayaks, kites, beach chairs and a beautiful outdoor space for reading, eating meals outside, game playing...all right on the beach! The kitchen was better stocked than my kitchen at home and the house fit us all perfectly. I would recommend this home to anyone. We look forward to visiting again!

Amazing Location and Beautiful House
Turtle View is an amazing house with a spectacular view of the gorgeous water and pristine sand. The snorkeling right off the back of the house was better than what I did in some other areas on the island. I highly recommend as my entire family had an amazing time. Thank you.

Beautiful beach house
Our family of 4 stayed at this lovely beach house for 2 weeks in July 2017. A long walk able sandy beach for morning and evening walks right outside the door. Plenty of shady areas to get out of the sun. A full service kitchen with all the comforts of home, with plenty of seating areas for meals. Ideal Spot for a Relaxing Vacation
We loved our stay at Tar Bay. The house is beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable. The open floor plan adds to its comfort and ease of living. The bedrooms are large and the kitchen is very roomy with lots of space. The house is conveniently located near the airport so you can settle in quickly after arrival. It's also convenient to grocery stores and Georgetown. As you will hear from others, Prime Meats, is a wonderful butcher shop just a few minutes away from the house with a great selection that you usually don't find in the Caribbean and a very friendly staff. We cooked most nights because of the great selection there. The best part, of course, is the spectacular white sand beach with turquoise water. We did very little exploring of the island during our two week stay because the beach was so enticing. As stated in other reviews, many of the days we are alone on the beach. On a 'busy' day there were maybe 8 people in the distance on the beach. Dee, the owner, was very easy to work with. She checked in with us during our stay to see how we are doing and if we had any questions. The residents of Exuma are very warm and welcoming. It was indeed a perfect vacation!

It was the perfect home. It is located in the middle of the island so trips were convenient going both North and South. The home is as beautiful as the pictures and was stocked with everything we could have imagined. You will have to wire the money for the rental. I was nervous about that but was a non-issue. I highly recommend this home.

Wonderful FIve Star Home on Windex Blue Water
This trip goes down as one of our best family vacations. We arrived with our 11 and 13 year old children and within minutes of arrival they jumped in their swimsuits and ran to the water. We have been to Maui, Kauai, Turks and Caicos, St. John, BVI, Cat Island, and several other Cays around the Bahamas. Exuma goes down as our favorite. The windex blue water: I took a million pictures of it, but it is never is as beautiful as it is in person. We explored the beaches, chartered a boat to the upper cays, ate at all the local restaurants and most importantly relaxed in this wonderful home. The home needs nothing more, it was an absolute joy to cook meals in the chefs kitchen while looking out at the beautiful ocean. Turtle View is nothing short of spectacular. We can’t wait to return.

Amazing Location and Beautiful House
