Sky Top Orchard near Hendersonville, North Carolina

Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock, NC, is within a 15 minute drive of Hot Dog World or Binions Roadhouse.  This apple orchard near Asheville, North Carolina has gorgeous views from the top of Mt. McAlpine, so try to visit on a sunny day if possible. 

Sky Top Orchard has a play area for children, a bamboo forest to explore, and an area to visit farm animals. Bring coins for the feeding machine, if you would like to feed the geese, ducks, and goats.  Wagon rides through the orchard are available for purchase.

During the busy season the orchard can get very crowded; it is best to arrive early when they open, or after 3 p.m.  Get your apple cider donuts early, as they are quite popular, and the line can get very long. Sky Top also has a gift shop where you can purchase pre-picked apples, and other apple treats and local goods. 

Call ahead to confirm availability if you want to pick apples and it is towards the end of the season, as the website information may not be up to date.

Other tips:  

1. Bring cash, as the line for the ATM can get long
2. Find out where to purchase tickets for the wagon ride, before standing in line for the ride
3. Download the orchard rules on their website
