The Olive Tree Restaurant and Bar
The Olive Tree Restaurant and Bar is located on Central St. in downtown Rutherfordton, a 25 minute drive from A Touch of Luxury Cabin. It's only a 3 minute walk from the KidSenses Children's Museum, and a 7 minute walk from the Bechtler House.
Scoggin's Seafood & Steakhouse
Scoggin's Seafood & Steakhouse in Rutherfordton, is another local favorite, less than 17 miles from our cabin. The restaurant has an enormous menu: all kinds of seafood (including oysters on the half shell), steaks, chicken, BBQ, sandwiches, salad bar, pastas, kid meals, and a full bar. The restaurant is open Tuesday - Saturday from 4 p.m. until they decide to close the doors. Usually at 4 p.m, there is already a line outside. Scoggin's Seafood & Steakhouse is just a few minutes from the KidSenses Childrens Interactive Museum in Rutherfordton.
The Copper Penny Grill
The Copper Penny Grill has two locations: one in Rutherfordton, and one in Forest City. The Rutherfordton location is closest to A Touch of Luxury Cabin, about a 25 minute drive. Locals love this place. The restaurant serves a large variety of items such as: mahi fish tacos, shrimp tacos, wings, soups, steaks, a large selection of burgers, salads, paninis, sandwiches, wraps, and chicken and vegetarian pasta dishes. The Copper Penny Grill offers beer, wine, and a full liquor bar. Prices are very reasonable, staff is friendly, and the decor is decorated in.... you guessed it - pennies! Give them a try, and you won't be disappointed. Open Monday - Saturday for lunch and dinner (11 a.m. to close). Closed on Sundays.
Gregory's Restaurant
Gregory's Original Restaurant is located in Rutherfordton, NC. It is right down the street from the Bechtler House, and the KidSenses Childrens Interactive Museum. Locals love to eat here. Favorites are the wings, grinders, homemade salad dressings, and salad bar. They also serve steaks and Italian dishes; however, the Italian dishes do not garner as good of reviews as the favorites. You can even order up to 100 wings if you desire, but be sure to call ahead if it's over one hundred. Prices are great for families on a budget.
