We are the Berardis! We live in Williamsburg, VA and have three kids. Frank is an engineer on a US Army vessel and Candace is in LPO sales. We purchased Whistling Winds Awenasa in the spring of 2018 seeking refuge from the hot and humid VA peninsula summers and a place to get away where it actually snows in the winter.

“Ideal for a true relaxing mountain experience ”
Nice location, about 20 min from downtown Blowing Rock. Clean, spacious, beautiful view, bed in master bedroom was very comfortable. Perfect fit for all of our wants and needs, will definitely be staying here again.

Whistling winds is amazing! What a wonderful house with spectacular views. It’s very spacious yet it has the warmth of a “home”. You will find that it’s extremely well equipped and has excellent internet. It’s absolutely a beautiful place to be. Candace definitely is a super host answering promptly to any question. This is a house that you’ll want to go back to without a doubt!

Great spot nestled just off the Blue Ridge Parkway with fantastic views! Sat in the hot tub to watch the sunrise each morning and hiked every day we were there. Would stay again!

Whispering Winds Awenasa was a lovely cabin for a week long getaway. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of spices, etc., but the Blackstone griddle was a game changer. We left knowing we’re going to buy one for ourselves. The location was great - high enough that we were in the clouds one day - with beautiful views of the balcony on clear days.

The incredible mountain view, forest sounds and utter isolation were absolutely what we needed for some good rest and relaxation! What an incredible log cabin home with all you could want for both human and pet comforts ;-) Thanks to our host's recent upgrade, the wifi was fabulous and we had absolutely no problems with our laptops. We highly recommend you watch the sunrise and the sunset from the porches - just spectacular and a great way to start/end a day (especially if you're watching from the hot tub). The listing details were spot on and I loved the "house rules" posted in the cabin - especially this one: "in case of bear, panic!" Candace is truly a superhost who was quick to respond to questions and offer helpful ideas for local places! Oh, and here's one helpful hint: when you're nearing the cabin, take the driveway just before the fabulous, large gorilla statue (we named, "George") - our GPS took us further down the road, past George and that driveway and it was a pickle getting turned around...especially in the dark. Do enjoy Candace's cabin any and every chance you get with your family and pets in tow!

Our stay at Whistling Winds Awenasa was a little piece of heaven. The views were just beautiful and the cabin provided us with everything we could possibly need and more to enjoy our summer getaway. Our family enjoyed playing pool and shuffle board, evenings in the hot tub, and cooking a delicious variety of dinners with use of the grill, blackstone, and fully stocked kitchen. We had more space then we ever could have needed to spread out and relax as well as come together. This cabin would be great for large families or friends to vacation together. We love how close it was to downtown Blowing Rock for shopping or a delicious afternoon treat and proximity to so many great places for hiking, fishing, boating, and exploring while still being far enough to feel secluded and private. Communication about booking and information on our stay was swift and clear and questions were always answered fully. It was a joy to be able to bring our fur baby with us and there was so much available to her to make her stay comfortable too. She quickly felt right at home and had no trouble navigating where to go out and appreciated all the water bowls. Thank you for sharing your place with us we highly recommend!

This is truly the perfect mountain home! It is even more beautiful inside than you can imagine! Perfect location to Blowing Rock, Boone, or Grandfather Mountain! Internet service was great! Great communication with host, home is well furnished, loved the hot tub , and the incredible views! Would definitely stay here again. Worth every penny yo reserve this one!
