Our area has many parks and hiking trails. Here are a few but there are many more.

2. Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge, Middletown, RI- This a 2.4 mile walking path with stunning ocean views and a variety of wildlife.

This easy seaside hike is pleasant any day of the spring, summer, or fall but on an unseasonably warm January winter day, if was exceptionally wonderful. Deer abound on this refuge as well as a monitored coyote pack. Migrating wildlife of all sorts are seen here regularly.

3. Pardon Gray Preserve/Weetamoe Woods, Tiverton, RI- A 15 minute drive from the house. Weetamoe Wood has 7 miles of hiking/biking trails and adjacent Pardon Gray Preserve has an additional 2 miles. We highly recommend a stop at Gray's Ice Cream in Tiverton afterwards!

Pardon Gray Preserve was purchased and preserved as permanent open space by the Tiverton Land Trust in 2000. It is an active farm and forest preserve adjacent to Main Road in South Tiverton and contiguous with the 550 acre Weetamoo Woods Open Space.

4. Newport's Cliff Walk - This is a can't miss! Spectacular ocean views on this 3.5 mile walk by many of Newport's famous mansions.

5. Brenton Point State Park, Newport, RI- Beautiful ocean views and a great place to fly kites!

6. Norman Bird Sanctuary, Middletown, RI- Bird sanctuary with over 7 miles of hiking/walking trails.

6. Fort Adams State Park, Newport, RI

Fort Adams State Park

The second largest bastioned fort in the U.S. Key to Narragansett Bay area defenses, 1799 to 1945. Designed to be the most heavily armed fort in America and to garrison 2,400 troops. Three tiers of guns defended Narragansett Bay's East Passage.

7. East Bay Bike Path, Bristol to Providence- Scenic 13 mile bike path that begins at Colt State Park in Bristol (see #1).

The East Bay Bike Path is a 12.8 mile heavily trafficked point-to-point trail located near Bristol, Rhode Island that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
