Singelton’s This is a great store to buy meat and other specialty items, hard liquor, beer and wine. It is located in Proctorsville, Vermont. If you are coming north from I91 via Vt route 103, you will go right by this. To get there, turn right onto route 131 after the only RR tracks you will have to cross while on 103 from Chester to Ludlow. It is right up the road on your right. You can’t miss it.
Shaw’s- in Ludlow there is a Shaw's. I usually stop there as well and do my shopping before I get to the cottage. It's about 15 minutes before you reach the house. Ludlow, Vermont
Ludlow Cooking Company- Previously known as Scoops. ….Hungry after a long drive?….We usually stop at this snack bar south of Ludlow. The kids like it and they are satisfied; you can then work on getting settled etc. It's a small snack bar before you get to the high school in Ludlow.
Ludlow Farmer’s Market- On summer Fridays in Ludlow by the high school 4-7 pm.
Country Store in Tyson- This is the little local store just two miles before you get to the cottage. They have the basics plus a selection of beer & wine. Soda, candy, coffee, ice cream, chips, eggs, milk etc. They sell fishing licenses and some fishing gear. They also rent out kayaks and canoes for about $40/day or $150/week. Tell the owners Tina & Jeff you are staying at Alecia’s cottage.
Woodstock Farmers' Market & Deli-
This is where you go to buy epicurean delights such as smoked trout pate, fine cheese, wines & beer, organic produce, and free-range farm raised meats.
Woodstock Farmers' Market- If you are coming up I89 from Boston you will go right by this store. Located on Route 4 in Woodstock. It’s the very best place for epicurean delights! If you need smoked trout pate, this is where you go. It is located just past the Woodstock Union High School as you head into Woodstock, on the right. They have free-range farm to table meats.
Gillingham’s- Located in the middle of Woodstock. You can find old time items here.
