CLEANING
The bulk of the cleaning involves laundry, bed-making, cleaning the bedrooms and bathrooms, cleaning the floors, and wiping down the windows. No doubt, choosing to rent a private home offers many more amenities than a hotel room. Whole-house private rentals are very different from a hotel, motel, or hostel. Private homes provide many more amenities at a lower price.
Our prices are based on comparing ROOM rates at the local hostel and nearby hotels. Prices range from $55/bunk bed at the hostel to $370 and upwards for a single king bed room at nearby hotels. We are a little bit more than a hostel (where you share a bunk room with 5 other people) and a lot less than a local hotel. Therefore, the kitchen, living areas, outside recreation areas, and amenities are all free amenities. Please be respectful and leave the place tidy upon your departure. Our cleaning crew should not have to pick you up or do your dishes.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROPERTY ~ What are we responsible for while staying? Please take care of the vacation home and treat it better than you would your own home. Please leave the cottage in the same tidy condition as when occupancy commenced. Our cleaning fees are based on the number of bedrooms & bathrooms used and the cleaning of those spaces.
1) Wash your dishes, pots, & pans, and put them away. Make sure they are CLEAN!
2) Keep counters, tables, and the stove wiped clean to not attract mice and bugs.
3) Put appliances back in the pantry.
4) Clean grills after use.
5) Place towels in the hampers* provided.
6) Put broken/chipped glasses/dishes on top of the fridge (on the red tray) so that we know and they can be replaced.
7) Lock up the boats and be sure they are bailed out.
8) Yard tidy by putting chairs back where originally found.
9) No smoking. No butts on the property, anywhere! Not in cans/bottles, not in the firepit, not in the garbage! Use ashtray in your car and take them home with you. No Smoking Property!
10) Recycle and compost (Vermont law ACT 148) as outlined below.
11) Supervise all children under the age of 12 at all times.
