Shipwatch Escape - Southport

Every Thursday night from April to October there are food trucks and live music scheduled on the condo patio by the pool and beach! Each Saturday afternoon Memorial Day through Labor Day there is also a pool party from 3-6 pm with music (MC Events and Entertainment), games and giveaways. Please also note, while the property does have a beach, the beach is actually off of the Cape Fear River, not the Atlantic Ocean. You are welcome to swim in the water, just be mindful it can be quite rocky at times and won't be your typical ocean/beach experience. Also, there is a “beware of alligator” sign on the beach. This was put there by the condo association as a precaution as there have been alligators spotted on the beaches in Southport previously. As with any NC beach, alligators are always possible in the area but we have never seen any ourselves during any of our previous visits nor have any of our guests ever let us know about any encounters. Lastly, we love pets but unfortunately our HOA is VERY strict about the no pet policy and they will remove you from the building if you are found with an animal. The only exception to the rule are service animals that are ADA compliant (thus emotional support and companion animals are not allowed). While you are not required to notify us or anyone else before hand, we do recommend you letting us know if you have a ADA compliant service animal so that we can contact the HOA ourselves and let them know which unit you will be staying in and what dates you will be there, so hopefully they will not bother you about the animal during your time there. Either way, whether you want to let us know before hand or not, it is a good idea to bring paperwork with you in case the HOA sees the animal and speaks with you about it. If a pet is found to be non-ADA compliant, guests will be charged both the original cleaning fee that we usually cover ourselves, as well as the extra deep cleaning fee the cleaner charges us to get the place ready for the next guests.
